Decided to give a 90 player, knockout tournament a shot. Overall I played ok and got Rivered at the end with my pocket A's being cracked by JQo. I needed chips as I was near the bottom of the remaining players with an M of 7.55.
Hand 50. I'm UTG+1 w/pocket A's (Ah As). UTG folds and I bet 3 BB (600) hoping to get some action so I can pick up more than just the blinds. HJ w/12620 chips raises me to 1000. Good some action. Everyone else folds and I re-raise all-in w/my last 1664 chips. HJ seems to think a bit and finally calls showing Jd Qc. Good no pair. I'm feeling pretty good and looking forward to the 4828 pot. Flop Qs 9h Ad. He pairs his Q but I hit a set w/my A's. Nice!! Per poker stove I'm a 96.7% to 3.3% favorite!! Turn 8s. Hmm, that gives him a chance at a gutshot straight draw, but he only has one chance to get it. My odds of winning are reduced to 91% to 9%. Turn 10h. Damn!!! He hits his gutshot straight and I'm gone!!! I'm feeling very much on tilt at the moment and need to take a break.
Except for the results I can't complain about my play. I got my chips in with the best of hands against a player who could double me up. That's the only part I have control over. In the long run my pocket's A's in this situation will bring me the chips, tonight the 3.3 percenter got them.
Otherwise, I never got much in the way of cards and a lot of the other players would be betting before me so I didn't find many situations where I felt my cards were worth a gamble against those players.
