I'm not going to write much today because of my cold. I'll cover the last hand and maybe tomorrow write a bit more. It was mostly patience that got me to the money and I wasn't sure I was going to make it. I wasn't getting very good cards most of this session and when I did get some decent ones often no one wanted to play. Late in the session I discovered one player was playing 6 sessions. He played often enough his VPIP didn't catch my attention but I started noticing he was taking time responding to hands (we were down to 3 or 4 at this point), and as the blinds got higher I found I was able to steal them fairly often.
We had been HU's for a few hands and I noticed he would go all-in some of the time when I limped in or made a small bet and I was hoping I would get a good hand where I felt comfortable calling him.
Hand 148. Blinds are 200/400. I have 8115 chips and am BB. SB has 5385 chips. I have pocket A's (As Ac) and SB bets all-in (oh boy) and I call. He shows Kd 10s Flop .3c Qc 10s. So far so good. Turn 3d. River Js. I win.
Nice way to finish my evening.

2 HU $2 + .15 End 1st 14 hands
I decided I'd try playing more aggressively from the start and overall it worked ok. How I played the last hand is a bit iffy even though I won it. In general when I was SB I'd bet 3 BB's. I was also lucky on a few hands.
Hand 2 I have pocket 8's and SB limps in w a 20 bet and I raise to 60, SB calls. Flop 2d 10h 9s, two over cards to my 8's. I bet 1/2 the pot (60) & SB calls. Turn Jc. Another overcard but also gives me a straight draw on the River. I bet 1/2 the pot again (120) and again the SB calls. That's a little worrisome with the board now showing 3 overcards and SB not backing down to my bets. River 4h. In theory no damage from that one to me. I decide to check since my previous betting didn't get SB to fold. Maybe it would have been better if I'd continued aggressively, but this is only hand 2. SB checks as well and shows Ac 8s. Looks like he was trying for the draw as well. The check did give me some information that maybe I'd not have if I'd made another 1/2 pot bet. Of course, it gave him info about me too. Not a lot happened after that until the last hand. We'd been mostly doing a bit of back and forth.
Hand 14. I'm the BB w/Ac Qc and 1560 chips. SB w/1240 chips bets 3 bb (60) and I raise to 120. SB re-raises me all-in with their 1240 chips. Darn, not what I wanted to see them do. If I call I'm down to 520 chips, but decide to risk a gamble and hoping they don't have something like AA, KK, or QQ. I've not seen enough of their play to have much of a feel about what they might be going all-in with. They show As 10h. Less than I expected and I have them covered. Flop Qd 2s 2c. Good for me. Just 2 cards to go. Turn 5h. River 8h. I win!!
As I said at the start I don't know how wise my play was after the SB decided to go all-in. I could easily have lost that hand. On the other hand, my aggressive play seemed to be working ok so I might well have been able to get back into the match with my 502 chips if necessary.

Rush . 9 player 05/.10 50 Hands Up $7.67 Blinds ate $0.95
Decided to try a little Rush and maybe get back some of the $$$ I'm down tonight. Only played 50 hands and hand 16 was the best.
Hand 16. I'm the BT w/$9.24 and pocket Q's (Qd Qc). Action folds to HJ who goes all-in w/$1.11, CO folds, I call, SB folds, and BB w/$22.12 raises to $3.60. I call. Not sure what BB's bet means but they have a stack big enough to double me up. Flop Qh 8c 10s. BB goes all-in w/$18.52 and since I hit my set and none of the cards showing make a higher set, I call. I didn't think about it at the time, but if he had J 9 he'd have a straight, but I can't see him betting as much as he did pre-flop with those cards. He shows pocket A's (As Ad), the HJ has Ah Qs. Turn 8s. I now have a FH! River 8d. I win and now have $18.34.
Not much else the rest of the way. I had some small pocket pairs but other players were betting more then I wanted to risk pre-flop with such low cards. I had AK a few times but didn't get any callers or they folded post flop after I bet.
Anyway it was nice to get back what I'd lost earlier.

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 8th 36 hands
Time to quit for tonight? I decided to take my chances with someone who I had seen fold a few times when they bet 2-3 BB's into the SB & BB when they went all in on him. He did the same to me as BB. I only had Qs 10d, but if he folded I'd be OK, instead he called. He had Ac 7c, one over card to me but the flop and turn was not nice to me as it gave him a club flush. Flop 5s 8c 10c. I hit my 10. Turn 9c. All over as he now has the flush. River Ks. I'm left with 150 chips.
Next hand I go all-in w/As 8h, against this same person again who has Qd 10h. They hit Their Q on the flop. The board showed 7d Qc 9d 5h 2h.
Not much else to say. I choose to gamble and lost.

2 HU $2 + .15 End 2nd 33 hands
A not very satisfying HU session. I never got any really great cards. I started out with the 3 BB bets and then he started raising me 10 BB's and I had to fold. He started doing that a lot. Then he had other odd higher betting patterns. I was never really able to get into the game or a handle on how to best play him.
Last hand, 33, I decided to be aggressive and was out flopped. I was down to 657 chips w/Ad 3s. BT limped w/30 and I called. Flop 3d 4h 5d. I pared my 3 for bottom pair and had a gutshot straight draw. I checked and he bet 99. I decided to double his bet to see what he would do and raised to 198. He went all-in and I called. Not being sure what he might have I was hoping that my A or the gutshot might pull me through, BUT he had a hand this time .... 6s 7h, having flopped a 7 high straight. Not looking good for me. Turn 9s, River 5h. I was done!
Granted I could have folded and should have but I was tired of this session and feel like I'm coming down with a cold as well. Maybe I should call it a night.
