I have to start again somewhere!!

It's been months since I last posted. I've been playing online, at Poker Pub events, a monthly, for money, tournament, and a casino tournament.

Online has been a bit up and down, mostly playing on Carbon Poker or Cake Poker. One issue with both, there are many times when there aren't enough players to get a tournament or even a Double-Up SNG going. Yes, cash is always there, but I'm still a pretty weak player at that. I had my best tournament show a week or so ago where I actually came in 1st out of 71.

The Poker Pub tournaments at Famous Sam's near me has been helpful. They have sessions on Saturday and recently Monday nights. It's all free, but gives me a lot of live practice and interacting with other poker players. I do fairly well at them and most sessions I play, I make the final table. I've been 2nd a couple of times.

The monthly, for money, poker tournament, has been more mixed, but over the past year or so I've been playing I've made the money 3 three times. Most recently this past week when I came in 2nd.

A month or so ago the 50+ club at SEIS  sponsored a day trip to Wild Horse Casino. I was able to go and mainly wanted to play in their Noon tournament. If you do some early bird cash play you get some extra chips, but the base amount is 1000. Not very many. This was my 1st time playing at an actual casino. To my surprise I was able to make the final table out of the field of 77. They paid the top 9 or 10. When we got down to 8 we decided to chop the pot. The top two players were given $25 from each of us to split between themselves in consideration of their agreeing to the chop. What that meant for me and the rest is that we made just about as much as if we'd come in 3rd! Not bad for a 1st time playing live at a casino.

Since I had some time to kill after the tournament before we caught the bus back I decided to try some 2/4 cash Limit Holdem. In about an hours time I lost $26, mainly in one hand that I didn't pay enough attention to what the board was telling me.

OK, that pretty much catches things up.
