Not well played overall. Early on I tended to stretch hands further than I should.
Hand 34 I'm on the BTN w/pocket J's (Jc Js) and 980 chips/blinds 40/80, eight players left. HJ limps in w/80, CO raises to 240, I decide to call, as does the SB & BB. A few hands earlier my pair of A's on the River was beat by J's that hit a set on the flop. Can the same happen for me? Flop 10h 10d 3s. Nope, but my pair is higher. SB, BB, & HJ check, CO goes all-in w/640, I decide to call, SB re-raises to 1280, BB & HJ fold, and I toss in my last 100 chips. CO shows pocket 7's; SB shows pocket 10's hitting quads on the flop. I need two J's!!! Turn Qs. River 7s. That's all she wrote for this session.
I think it's time for a break!

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 3rd 105 Hands
Generally ok play. Hand 32 I pushed for a gutshot straight and didn't get it. That put me back to 720 chips.
Hand 48 I got lucky on the flop. I had KQo UTG and went all-in w/my last 970. MP raised all-in and the SB called, also going all-in. MP had AKs and SB had pocket A's (AsAc). Flop Ah 10c Jd. I hit a straight, SB hit a set, and MP paired their Ace. Looking very good for me.Turn 8h. River Qh giving MP a straight as well. So we split the pot.
One player started going all-in a lot and/or making very high pre-flop bets which made it hard to know when to challenge him as when we did get to see his cards, though they weren't often great they were usually on the higher end. I'd decided that pocket pairs were often worth the risk and succeeded in picking up some chips with them.
Hand 105. Three of us left. I'm the BB w/pocket 4's. BTN folds and SB open raises 1200 (5 BB) and I decide to re-raise all-in w/my last 3780 chips. Coming back at him hard can get him to fold. This time he calls showing 10s Js, two overcards. Flop 9c 6s 2s. Turn Jd. River 9s. I get hit with a double whammy. 1st he pairs his J and then hits a flush on the River. I exit in 3rd place.

This was a rough one once we got inside the top 10/9 and as we got down to the last 7 we were all within 2000 of each other so it was real easy to be in and out of the top 4. In the end I managed to make it and win a Step 2 ticket!! I feel I played reasonably well once we got down to that point.

I had a good chance to make the money but when I decided to challenge a very loose player after I paired my J on the flop of 2 J 9, he ended up having pocket Q's that hand. That left me w/650 chips w/blinds at 60/120 and I couldn't recover from that. Otherwise it was a bit of mixed play.
My 1st blow came from the same player when I had A4s and the board played out 6c 2s 3s 3d Ah. He had A9s and that cut me from 1320 chips to 780. I was on a nut flush draw after the flop. After that I had ups & downs until the final hand.

Didn't realize I'd signed up for a $1 SNG, thought I'd clicked on the $2. Anyway as you can see it was quick and not in my favor.
Hand 3 I have Qd Jd. I'm UTG and limp in. Flop 3d Js Qs is nice to me and I now have top two pair. I bet 1/2 the 150 pot (75), the BTN & SB calls, BB folds. Turn 8d. I now have a flush draw as well. I bet 195 into the 405 pot, BTN calls & SB folds. River Ah. Not a card I preferred to see, but if the other player only paired their Ace I'm still ok. I bet 330 into the 795 pot and the BTN raises me 1125 when they go all-in. I debate it a bit and decide to call. They could have K 10. Turns out they had pocket Q's and had hit a set on the flop. Until the River they just called my bets so I had no indication how strong they might be. Apparently they weren't worried about me having a straight. That left me with 75 chips and I went out on the next hand.
I could have folded their raise on the River as it was very likely they had something they felt they'd win with and I need to think more about what that might be. My thought about a straight was incorrect, but that should have been enough to have me fold and still be in the session licking my wounds. Of course any set would have beat me and I'm not sure how I'd have been able to make myself aware of that possibility since they merely called my bets until the River.

Mixed play. I got off to a bad start in hand 4. I had two pair and the board showed a possible flush and indeed the other player had it. I was left w/340 chips. I was able to build myself back up and even was up a bit. We were around even at hand 51 and then I went into a downward spiral. No terrible plays but not making any hands. Hand 73 w/pocket J's vs A4o I was sucked out on on the River by an Ace. Was pleased I made the comeback from hand 4 but disappointed I wasn't able to carry it through when I got back to the lead.

Grrrrr. I seem to go along doing reasonably ok, then things seem to go south and/or I don't seem able to get any traction and my chips keep dwindling. When I play cards I either get out bet or they have better cards, when I don't play some of my cards have a tendency to hit. The other problem is a good number of players are betting 3 BB or better and, in general, I'm getting crap cards so it doesn't seem worth the risk to gamble with them. There is probably a learning experience here someplace!
Last hand sort of tells the tale. I'm SB w/Qs 9d and 1849 chips; blinds are 80/160. Action folds to HJ who open raises 3 BB (480), rest fold to me and I decide to call as does the BB. Flop 8c Ad Qc. I'd like to make to a play here but there is that big ole Ace out there and a player who opened w/3BB bet and well could have an Ace. All three of us check. Hmmm. Turn 3h. I check and so does the BB; HJ bets 1040 into the 1520 pot. I decide re-raise all w/ my last 1529 chips, BB folds. Either my paired Q is good or I'm done. HJ calls and shows Kh 9s. Indeed my Q is good. One card to go. River Kd. I'm sunk. :-/ & that is how things seemed to go in the 2nd half of this session. Maybe if I'd gone all-in sooner he'd have folded, but I'm not sure of that.

I got off to a modest start and on hand 7 had pocket K's. I had a bad feeling about one of the players who raised my 220 bet to 400 that he might have pocket A's and unfortunately I was correct. One other player joined in w/K9. Pocket A's ended up with a FH , K9 end up with trip 9's and I was gone. I could have played the hand less aggressively but I was hoping my all-in would knock the other two players out of the hand before the flop. I don't feel bad about my play, I just took a gamble early and lost this time. The pocket A's I understand sticking around, the K9 I have no idea why he thought it was a good idea to join two other all-in raisers pre-flop.
Hand 7. I'm SB w/pocket K's (Kc Kd). UTG+1, CO, limp in w/40, BTN calls and I raise to 220 and the BB re-raises to 400. Darn I say to myself, could he have pocket A's? I sure hope not as I pretty much plan on going all-in when it gets back to me. UTG+1 calls, the CO & BTN fold, and I re-raise all-in w/my last 1330 chips, BB re-raises all-in w/their last 1202 chips, and UTG+1 calls. BB, unfortunately, does have pocket A's (Ad Ac), UTG+1 has Ks 9d.. I'm in big trouble!! Besides the pocket A's, there is only one K left in the deck!! Flop Qc 9s 6c. Turn Ah. That does it for me. :-( River 9c.

I think I played this one too passively and was lucky to come out on top. I was behind in the chip count until hand 60 and then we bounced back and forth for the chip lead. I got very lucky on hand 71 where we both had trip J's on the Turn but he had the better kicker, as I discovered as I called his all-in, and it looked like I'd be down to 170 chips. Fortunately the River paired the board and we chopped the pot. We did a bit more trading back and forth and then I started winning some hands and had him down to 535 chips.
Hand 104. I have Kh 3s as the SB and open raise 2 BB (160) and BB raises all-in. I call. BB shows Ad Kd and it looks like I'm going to double him up. Flop 2d 9s 5h. Turn 3d. Wow, I pair my 3. River 8c. It's over and I win.

Mixed play and certainly not my best. Hand 7 I got off to a good start w/pocket 10's holding up to KQo and I had 1890 chips.
Hand 18 went poorly. I was MP1 w/pocket J's (Jd Jh). UTG open raises 3 BB (150), I & SB call. Flop 2d 6d 10s. Nothing dangerous to my J's. SB bets 250 into the 500 pot, UTG & I call. Turn 7d. I have a J high flush draw. SB checks, UTG bets 300 into the 1250 pot, I call. SB folds. River 2c. Again nothing dangerous looking except for the possible flush and or deuce set. UTG bets 200 into the 1850 pot and I call to check them out. UTG shows pocket A's (Ah Ad). If they had bet bigger or higher cards had shown up on the board it would have been an easy fold, but as was I felt encouraged to carry on. I'm down to 890 chips.
Hand 50 as CO I have pocket A's (Ac As) and only 730 chips w/blinds of 50/100. UTG w/1159 chips open raises all-in and I call, rest fold. UTG shows pocket 9's (9h, 9c). The board plays out 3s Ah 4s 3d Qs and my A's hold up. I have 1610 chips and am back in the game.
Hand 53 I have pocket 7's vs KTo, they catch a 10 on the flop and I'm down to 1130 chips.
Hand 58 I have pocket 7's again. This time, since I only have 821 chips left and 60/120 blinds I go all in. I'm up against pocket 3's and K9o. Flop gives the 3's a set and I get some chips back as they had fewer chips than me and I now have 702.
Hand 62 I just take a gamble w/Js 9h and end up against QJo. They win and I have 95 chips left. Two hands later I'm gone.

Hand 12. I'm SB w/pocket Q's (Qc Qh). Could be a good opportunity for me to get back some chips. Action folds to the BTN who limps in/w 40 and I raise to 130, a little over 3 BB, BB folds, and BTN calls. Flop 6d 5c Jc. Not a bad one for my Q's. I bet 165 into the 300 pot and the BTN calls. They hit a straight on the Turn. :-/ River 4c. It's all over for me.
I feel I played it as well as I could and aggressive enough but the BTN didn't fold pre-flop and had an open ended straight draw after the flop, and if they hadn't hit the straight on the turn, they had an additional flush draw on the River. Chalk one up for the other guy on this one.

I played 14 of these sessions, two I made to the final table. Best endings 7th & 9th. They are fun but you do need to get lucky a lot to do well, at least until the final table. To some degree, play gets back to a more normal Rush session as the remaining players have a decent number of chips and won't be bounced out by the blinds.

I didn't really think too much about what he may have, but expected at least KQ. He could have a set and I probably should have thought about it. He shows Kc 10d. Turn 8s. River Jh. It's over & I win!

It was touch and go part of the way and after we got down to the last three, but I managed to hand in there and even inded up 1st! Was caught once again with a set killing my nice pair on the board. I need to keep reminding myself that most folks are betting because they feel they have it!

Not a lot I was able to do this session. Players tended to bet often which kept me out of most hands and I didn't get particularly good cards. The best I had was AKo one hand and I accidently folded to a raise after the flop, though I might have folded anyway as only small cards were in the flop.
By hand 37 we were down to five players and I was short stack with 1500, high stack had 4395, and the other three between 2200 & 2700. Hand 46 developed like I might be able to add to my chip stack.
Hand 46. I'm SB w/7h 4s. Action folds to me and I open raise 2 BB (160) and the BB calls. Flop 4h 8d Ah. I have bottom pair. I make a min bet of 80 into the 320 pot and the BB raises me to 160. He's probably got me beat w/an Ace but I decide to call and look at one more card. Turn 7d. I now have bottom two pair.I bet 240 into the 640 pot and the BB raises me to 800. Hmmm, I'm still thinking they have A's & I can beat that. They could also have a better two pair than mine. I push that thought aside and go all-in w/my last 1010 chips. BB calls and shows pocket 8's (8h 8c). They hit a set on the flop. I'd not cosidered that possibility. I need a 4 or a 7. River 10c and I'm outta there.
I feel ok with how I played the hand through the BB 160 raise to me after the flop, although it probably would have been better if I'd folded. However after the Turn when he re-raised me from 240 to 800, I needed to stop and fold. There were too many obvious ways my bottom two pair could be beat.

Up through hand 43 I'd been doing well and had the other player down to 620 chips, and felt I should be able to finish them off shortly. Then came hand 43 and hand 47.
Hand 43. I'm BB w/As Js. SB open raises 4 BB (160), something he does from time to time and since I've not had very good cards in the past I've always folded, so I don't really know what is behind those bets. He often folds so I suspect they are usually something that is probably worth betting for. I decide to re-raise him to 320. If it is a bluff he'll probably fold,. He calls. Flop 10d Qc 8h. I have a double gutshot straight draw. I check and SB bets 300 into the 640 pot putting them all-in, I call. They show Ah Kd. They have a better kicker than me and also a gutshot straight draw. Turn 8c. River 2c. Their Ace with the better kicker wins. They now have 1240 chips.
Hand 47. I didn't take the time to pay attention to what the other player may have and was surprised when their flush took my straight away. Grrrr. I'm BB w/8c 4c. SB limps in w/40 and I call. Flop 7d 6d Kc. I have a gut shot straight draw and runner, runner flush draw. I check and SB bets 40 into the 80 pot, I call. Turn 3d. I don't notice that there is now a possible diamond flush out there with that card; I just see it as an extension of my gutshot straight draw. I check and SB bets 40 into the 160 pot, I call. River 5c. I get my straight. Although I didn't see the possible flush, I did see a possible better straight than mine with a 5 6 & 7 on the board. I bet 120 into the 240 pot and the SB raised me to 600. Figuring I have him beat with my straight I re-raise all-in w/my 1540 which will put him in w/his last 500 if he calls. He does and shows Kd 4d. He has a flush. I lost. How could that happen???? I had the winning hand, didn't I??? I'm now the short stack w/560 chips and things look pretty bleak to me.
Hand 54 I manage to River a flush w/Ad 7d and am up to 1200; a decent amount of chips to play with. Hand 56 I made a big gain again.
Hand 56. I'm SB w/Ad Kc. I open raise 3 BB (150) and BB re-raises me to 350. Since I only have 950 chips left I re-raise all-in and BB calls showing Ac 8c. Weaker pocket cards than I expected. I thought if he didn't have a decent pair he'd have AK, AQ, AJ, and maybe AT. Flop 2h 6s 3d. Turn Js. River Kh. My AK holds up and he is now the short stack w/800 chips. We go back and forth without any great changes in our respective chip counts until the last hand. He has been all-in a fair amount of times and I've not been able to call him so don't know what he's been holding at those times, though I suspect they aren't always the best cards
Hand 104. I'm SB w/As Jc; BB has 500 chips left after posting the BB. I limp in w/60 in hopes he'll make a big raise or go all-in, a pattern I've noticed he often does when I merely limp in. This time he just checks me. Flop Qs Ad 5c. I pair my Ace. BB goes all-in and I call. I figure at best he might have AK or AQ but if he did I'm pretty sure he'd have gone all-in pre-flop. BB shows 7d Qh, he paired his Q. I have one overcard. Turn Qc. Rats he can beat me w/trip Q's. River Ac. Wow it hits me I now have trip A's and win. Session over!!

Didn't last long in this one. On hand 3 I had pocket K's. UTG & HJ all went all-in. I'm in CO and decided to call as the only pocket pair that would beat me would be pocket A's. Turns out that is only partially true.
UTG had pocket Q's and HJ had pocket J's. I felt I was in a pretty good position, then came the flop. flop 2d Jd Ad. J's hit their set. Turn 5h. River 10c. I have 90 chips left. Next hand I had KQs and went all in. Was called by AJs. Board showed: 6d 4h 6s Ad 6c and I was done!
Well this should let me get some sleep before our group meeting today.

I was doing ok and had built up a decent early chip stack when I made a big all-in mistake, then the final hand came where I was sucked out on, on the River. For a change the really bad players didn't do me in and I was able to make some headway from them. Last table I was at we were basically 3 players with the rest sitting out.
Hand 46 I had Kc Qc. Player to my right open raised 3 BB (360) and I called. Flop Ks 10d 9c. I have top pair and gutshot straight draw. I felt good about that, probably too good, as it kept me from properly considering what my opponent might have. He bets 480 into the 405 pot and I raise him to 960 and he re-raises me to 2640. Here's where I didn't take the time to think it out. My general thought was he probably had a K like me and we both were on straight draws. He might have AK, but I was hoping he didn't. Since I feel, at worse we are going to split the pot, I re-raise all in w/my 14970 chips and he calls with his last 5815. OK, not a big surprise. He shows Jh Qs. He already has the straight!!! :-/ I'm in trouble!!! Turn 10s. River 2h. I've been cut back to 6515 chips. We went on break after this hand.
Hand 50 we now have 4 active players. I have pocket J's. Player to my right (CO) bets 3 BB (360), I call, SB calls, and BB re-raises all-in w/5220 chips. CO re-raises all-in w/17,685 chips. I decide to call. If I win I'll triple up, but they could have AA, KK, or QQ to easily beat me. BB has Ac 10s and CO has 10h 10d. I'm feeling better with the only overcard being the one Ace. Flop 8c 3c 9d. So far so good for me. Turn 7h. That could be a problem as they both now have an open-ended straight draw. Turn Jd. That was mean. I hit my set but they hit their straight and I'm gone.
Overall, except for that one hand I feel I played decently.

Mixed play but the end came with the last two hands where I had pocket 9's, one beat by pocket A's and the other by ATo.
Hand 4 I over bet trying for a straight draw and was down to 930 chips. Next hand, 5, I gained many of them back hitting a flush on the River. After that it was a bit of up and down till I hit my pocket 9 hands.
Hand 41. I have pocket 9's as HJ. Action folds to me and I bet 3 BB (360), CO & BTN fold, SB raises all-in w/thier last 900, BB folds. I'm hoping they are a bit desperate and maybe going with two high cards, so I call. Unfortunately for me they have pocket A's. The board plays out: Ks 7s 7c Kc 6h. I'm down to 645 chips..
Hand 42. I end up w/pocket 9's again. Can I get a better outcome this time? Surely I can't be squashed two hands in a row!! NOT! Action folds to me and I open raise all-in. CO calls all-in w/their 725 chips and rest fold. They show As 10c, two overcards. Flop Ad 10h Ac. Could I get a worse flop to me??? No!! Quad 9's is my only hope here. Turn Kd. River 7d. I'm done!! Squashed pocket 9's two hands in a row!!

Overall decent play. Hand 7 w/pocket J's The board showed 9s 7c 7h 10c 10h. Other player made a small bet on the River and I called. He had As 4s and likely made that bet because he had the Ace kicker to the boards two pair. That gave me a small up of 1905 chips.
Hand 11 I make a nice gain. Seven players left. I'm SB w/Ah 9d. Four players limp in before me w/60, I call and BB checks. Flop 10s 8s Js. It gives me an open ended straight, but there could also be a spade flush out there and certainly a spade draw from one of the six of us in this hand. I bravely bet 180 into the 360 pot to get an idea of how things might shake down. MP w/3270 chips & BTN w/535 chips call, rest fold. At least I've narrowed the field. Turn Qh, I've hit my straight. Does anyone have AK becomes an additional bother. Since I only got calls on the flop, I decide to chance it and go all-in w/my last 1605 chips into the 900 pot. Maybe it'll stop any players still on a draw. MP calls and BTN folds. MP shows Ks Qc. She has both flush & straight draws ... 13 outs. River Kc. MP has two pair. I win and now have 4110 chips.
Hand 17 I give a few away when my 3c 10h is beating by As 10c ... out kicked. Hand 33 as SB I have Kh 6h; blinds 120/240. Action folds to me and I open raise to 600 and the BB re-raises all-in w/their last 1045 chips. I decide to call and keep my fingers crossed. BB shows Ah 3s, one overcard. Flop Qh As 9h. Pairs BB Ace and gives me a 2nd high nut flush draw. Turn 8s. River 3h. I win and we are now on the bubble and I have 3645 chips, 2nd highest stack. Eleven hands later I'm one of the top three.

It was a bit of a struggle but I came out on top in the end. Early on I found out the hard way that when he bet on the River he usually had a winning type hand so I had to be careful how I played at those times if I didn't want all my chips over on his side. Where I did have success was when he and I both hit the flop, turn, or river and I had a better kicker than his. That oddly turned up in the hand where I turn things around and took a big lead on him. I'd thought I was all alone there with the good card. He also managed to fold, rather than open bet, when I had my two best starting hands, pocket A's and pocket Q's.
Hand 20. I'm BB w/As Jc and 905 chips. SB open bets 2 BB (60) which was unusual for him as he would limp in most times. I called. Flop 3h 10c Qc. I have a gutshot straight draw. I check and so does he. Turn 7c. Again I check & he bets 60 into the 120 pot, I call. Two possible flush draws showing out there. River 10h. No real help to me and there could be a heart flush. I check again and SB bets 90 into the 240 pot. Since it's such a small bet, even though it hurts my smaller chip stack if I lose, I decide to check him out and call. He shows Kh Js. I have the better kicker and win. Phew! I have 1145 chips.
Hand 33. I'm BB w/Kc 4d and 1070 chips. SB makes his usual limp in w/30 and I call. Flop Qc 8c 4h. I have bottom pair. I make a min bet of 30 into the 60 pot and SB calls. Turn 9c. I have a 2nd nut high flush draw to go along with my bottom pair. I decide to check this time and SB min bets 30 into the 120 pot, and with that small of a bet I call. River Ks. I have top two pair, but I do have to worry about SB having a club flush, though the way he bet the turn I feel that's unlikely. I bet 90 into the 180 pot and SB raises me to 180. Again it's a small enough raise, and I do have two pair, I call to check him out. He shows As 8s, black but wrong suit for a flush. He did pair his 8 on the flop but that is it and I win. I have 1370 chips.
Hand 42. The hand I mentioned at the start of this post. I have 1180 chips to his 1820. I'm SB w/Qd Jc. I limp in w/40 & BB calls. Flop Jd Jh 3h. Interesting. I have trip J's and a decent kicker! BB checks and I bet 40 into the 80 pot and BB calls. Turn 8s. Nothing changes. BB checks and I make a min bet of 40 into the 160 pot. BB calls. River 9c. That card I don't like as well, as he may have made a straight with it. BB checks and I decide to bet 1/2 the pot of 240 and BB raises me to 240. I think about it and decide if he has the winner he'll have to put most of his chips in and I re-raise all-in with my last 940 chips. I like my trip J's but they can be beat. BB calls and shows Js 5d. He had trip J's too, but a weak kicker and I win!!! I now have a nice chip lead of 2360 to 640. I want to play carefully and make no mistakes now.
Hand 43. I liked this hand but wasn't able to get any traction with it. I'm BB w/5h 2c. SB limps in w/40 and I call. Flop 5d 2h 2s. Very nice flop for me and likely a scary one for SB, so I decide to check and maybe he'll take a stab at it with a min bet. He doesn't and just checks. Turn Qs. Darn, I did not want to see a big card here. I make a min bet of 40 into the 80 pot praying the SB will call, but they just fold. I probably should have min bet on the flop. If he had one or two big cards he might have called hoping to hit a better pair on the Turn or River and I might have picked a few chips.
Hand 46 certainly didn't look like one I would win. I'm SB w/2s 6s and open raise 2 BB (80); BB calls. Flop 5c 9s 8s. I have a flush draw, but I have very weak spade cards. BB checks and I bet 80 into the 160 pot and BB calls. Turn 7d. I have a straight!! Not a possibility I'd noticed at the flop. My hand is looking a lot better!! BB bets 40 into the 320 pot and I raise to 140. BB calls. River Js. Although that card gives me the flush it could also give a flush to the BB and likely he'd have a spade bigger than a 6. BB checks. Why? I'm not sure, but it could mean they don't have much. I bet 200 into 600 pot and if they call and lose they'd still have 160 chips left. If they win I'd still have the lead w/1840. As I thought they might do, if they played back, they went all-in and I called. Now comes the moment of truth. They show 6c Qs. With the 7 on the turn we both hit the straight and if I didn't hit the flush on the river we'd have chopped the pot. Instead I win. Game over!
I got off to a good start on hand 1 w/Ad Qh as BB. UTG+1 limped in w/30, MP raised to 330. Action folded to the BTN who re-raised to 630, SB folded and I decided to re-raise all-in w/my 1500 chips. Action folded to the BTN who called showing 2s 5c. Well he does have two good undercards. The board played out 8c Qd 3s Jd 5s. My paired Q won and I had 3375 chips.
Hand 9 I have pocket A's (Ad Ac) and I hope a good chance to double up again. I'm on the BTN. UTG +1 & MP limp in w/30, HJ & CO fold, I raise to 15, SB & BB fold, UTG+1 & MP call. Flop 7s 9c 2d. UTG+1 bets the pot of 495, MP calls and I decide to go for it raising all-in w/my 3150 chips. Both call. UTG+1 has Ks 9s, having paired his 9 on the flop. MP has 8s 10d, having an open ended straight. Turn 4c. River 6d. MP hits their straight and I'm outta there.
Probably with that flop and the betting I should have folded. Though neither one had a set, they could have and my A's would have been beat then. If I want to be around for the finish, I also need to fold at the right times too.

Not too much to say this time. I'd been playing OK and had increased my stack to 3750 chips. This looked like a good hand to get more.
Hand 20. I have pocket 9's (9c 9s), UTG+1. Nine players six sitting out. I open raise 2 BB (80), MP1 calls and rest fold. Flop 9d Ac Jc. I hit my set! I bet 140 into the 220 pot and MP1 calls. Turn 10s. I bet 300 into the 500 pot and MP1 raises me to 600. Since I don't like the looks of the board for draws I re-raise all-in w/my last 3230 chips. MP1, who has 10,272 chips calls and shows Jh 10c. They have two pair and can't make a straight. My pocket 9's are looking pretty good right now. River 10d. Ugh. They het a FH of 10's full of J's which beats my now FH of 9's full of 10's. I'm gone!
I don't fee as bad abut this one as I have some of the others I've been knocked out of. They didn't have great cards but they didn't have complete junk either. The cards went their way, so be it.

Much of the time decent play on my part, but there were a few hands I should have folded and didn't.
Hand 17 gave me an early double up w/Ac Qh in the BB. Flop was 8c Qc 7c giving me a nut flush draw. UTG was doing some big betting, so I just called. Turn 10c. I & UTG checked. River 2c. Since UTG didn't bet on the Turn I figure I have nothing to lose betting here and bet 860 into the 475 pot and to my surprise, with FIVE CLUBS on the board they called!! UTG showed Ad Qs, Short stack, 150 chips, showed Jc 9d. I have 3145 chips and can relax a bit.

Hand 18 I give a bunch of them back as the SB w/Ks Qd. Six players. Action folds to the BTN who open raises w/150, I & BB call. BB is left w/395 chips. Flop 2h 2s Jh. I check and BB goes all-in w/395 into the 450 pot, BTN folds and I decide to call. No special reason, I just have overcards to the flop. BB shows Ac 4c, one overcard to me. Turn 8c. River Ah. I'm back to 2600 chips.
Hand 21 I get back chips w/AKs vs AJo and am up to 3000 chips.
Hand 29 is one of those hands where I'd be better off just folding early on. I'm BB w/Qd 4d and 3090 chips. Two of the six players limp in and I call. Flop Jh 9s Qh. I pair my Q but there is potential for a straight or straight draw as well as a heart flush draw. I bet 120 into the 210 pot, UTG calls and CO folds. Turn 8d. If UTG has a 10 they have a straight. I check and UTG bets 300 into the 450 pot, leaving them w/510 chips. I raise them to 600 and they re-raise me to 810 when they go all-in. I call. If I win I knock them out, but it is very unlikely they'd have bet as they did if they didn't have the winner. Indeed they do showing Ad 10h. I'm cut back to 2100 chips.
Hand 69 we hit the bubble. Stacks were relatively close and we could easily switch around with a win here and there. Stack sizes were: 4465, 3440, 2645 (me), and 2550.
Hand 88. I'm the BB w/pocket 3's (3c 3h), 4595 chips (just slightly the big stack). Action folds to the SB who open raises to 3 BB (600) and I call. Flop 9h Qc 3d. I hit my set. SB bets 800 into the 1200 pot and I raise to 1600. They re-raise all-in w/their last 3185 chips. Are they on a draw? Did they hit a set w/the 9 or Q? Well there is only one way to find out and I call. If they have a bigger set I'm dead, but I'm banking they don't. If I lose I have 210 chips left and likely would end up 4th. SB shows 7d 10h. Actually nothing at this point and they need two cards to make any kind of straight. Turn 4d. River 10c. My set holds up. We are down to three and I'm big stack with 9380 chips. 2nd high has 2670 and short stack has 1450. One other advantage I may have here is they are both playing 4 to 7 tables.
I play cautiously being, generally unwilling to give up any of my chips. Hand 120 I have pocket K's (Kd Ks). I'm on the BTN and open raise 2 BB (480), SB folds, & CO raises all-in w/their last 1460 chips. I call, wondering if they might have pocket A's. .They don't, but they do have one Ace. Flop Qs 9d As. They pair their Ace and it looks like they're going to double up. Turn 3d. No help. I get lucky on the River. River Kh. We are now HU.I have 10,900 chips to the other players 2600.
Again I play very cautiously. We do a bit of bouncing around and on hand 149 they double up. I have pocket 3's, they have J7o. They open raise all-in w/1970 chips and since I have a pair I call. Flop 7d Ad Ah. they pair their 7. Turn 4s. River 8h. They now have 3940 chips.
I've had pocket A's and K's a few times here but was never able to get any action for them until hand 153. I'm BB, blinds are 150/300. SB open raises 2 BB (600) and I make a small raise to 900 and SB calls. Flop 9h 2d 2c. I check and so does the SB. Not looking like these A's are going to get much action either. Turn Js. I bet 750 into the 1800 pot and the SB calls. River 5h. I bet 1350 into the 3300 pot and the SB raises me all-in w/their last 1990 chips. I call. SB shows Jc 8s. Two pair, J's high. I also have two pair A's high. It's over and I win.

Three hands were poorly played that put me in marginal to poor chip counts.
Hand 8. I'm BB w/Jc 7d and 1415 chips, seven players. Action folds to HJ who limps in w/40, rest fold to me and I check. Flop 7c 8s 5c. I pair my 7. I bet 75 into the 100 pot and HJ calls. Turn Ac. I have a flush draw but HJ could already have a flush. Not the kind of card I like to see, and even if I get a flush it is only J high. Both I & the HJ check. River 7h. Hmm, I now have trip 7's. I bet 175 into the 250 pot and the HJ raises me to 480. I reluctantly call figuring he probably has the flush, and indeed he does showing Qc 10c. In retrospect I'd have been better off just checking the River since there was a good likelihood that he had the flush, so instead of having 1340 chips, I'm down to 860.
I made a comeback in hand 10 with pocket J's vs KQo and was back up to 1780 chips.
Hand 28. I'm the BTN w/pocket 4's (4d 4c), and 1840 chips, blinds 30/60. Action folds to me and I open raise 2 BB (120), SB raises to 180, BB folds, and I call. Flop 3h 2c 3d. Hmmm, cards lower than mine! But the board is paired. BB bets 60 into the 420 pot and I call. Turn 8s. BB bets 60 into the 540 pot and since it is a small bet and only one overcard so far, I call. River 6c. Another small card. BB bets 60 one more time into the 660 pot and I call. Although I didn't have a good feeling about my pocket 4's, his bets were small enough I was willing to call. He shows pocket 10's. I'm back to 1480 chips. This hand is a little more difficult to say I made a poor choice by calling. Would betting aggressively have helped me? Hard to say, since he had pocket 10's and except for the 3's on the board the cards didn't look that scary.
Next hand I give away another 300 chips. I have Ac 8c. Flop is Jh 6h Ad. Action folds to me and I bet 120 into the 240 pot and the SB raises to 240. I decide to call though at best I have paired A's with a weak kicker. Turn is 6s and SB goes all-in and I fold. I'm down to 1180 chips. From here on out it's just trying to keep even and/or ahead of the blinds.
Hand 56 I'm BB w/As Ks and 690 chips. UTG & BTN limp in w/100 and I raise all-in with my last 690. UTG folds, BTN calls showing pocket 10's (10s 10d). I have two overcards. Flop 6c 8s 5s. I have a nut flush draw. Turn 10c. One more chance. River Qc. and I'm done!

Decent play on my part. Other player liked to bad mouth me from time to time, starting with "you again" when play started. I don't remember them and they show up in PT once in a big tournament in May and then 6 months or so earlier, but no hand data, so I gather I didn't participate in any hands with them.
Hand 48 was my 1st nice hand with them. I was SB w/Qd 9h and 1215 chips, blinds 25/50. I opted to limp in this time w/50 & BB called. Flop 2d 9s 9c. Nice! I have trip 9's. BB bets the pot of 100 and I decide to slow play and just call. Turn 6d. BB bets the pot of 300 and I raise them to 600 and they decide to re-raise me by going all-in w/their last 1310 chips. From the board they could have trip 9's too, maybe they have a lower set than mine. They could be on a diamond flush draw but that doesn't seem too likely. If they have 78, they have a straight but I don't feel they do. I call and they show Ah 2c, having just paired their deuce. I can't lose and he is left w/520 chips! 1st big disadvantage I've had him at.
Hand 54. I'm SB w/9d 10d, blinds 25/50 & BB has 645 chips left after posting BB. I limp in w/50 and BB raises me to 150 and I call. He might pick up a few chips on me here. Flop 10c 6d 9c. Nice!! That flop sure makes my 9T look a lot better. :-) BB decides to go all-in w/their last 545 chips and it is an easy call for me. He could have a set or 78 for a straight or he's just desperate to pick up some chips; anyway until shown otherwise I go with my two pair. He shows Ac Qs. Nice cards but he needs a lot of help to make something that will beat me. Turn 4d. River 2c. I win!!

Not much happened for me and last hand sort of tells it how it went. I'm MP1 w/Ks Qd. UTG & UTG+1 limp in w/120, I call, MP2 calls, rest fold thru BTN, SB calls & BB checks. A nice multiway pot. Flop 8c 3s Qc. SB checks, BB bets the 720 pot, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls. and I decide I'll go for it and raise all-in w/my last 2120 chips. All I'm worried about is someone having AQ and if there is a flush draw maybe I can prevent it. SB w/3330 chips calls as does UTG+1 w/5045 chips. I don't stop anybody. :-/ SB shows Qs 10c and UTG+1 shows Qh Jd. I have both covered. Does that mean anything? Not in the end.
Pre-flop I'm a 56% to 23% to 21% favorite. After the flop I'm a 69% to 13% to 18% favorite. Turn 9h gives SB a gutshot straight draw. I'm now 85.7% to 7.1% to 7.2% favorite. Does that help me on the River? NO! River Jc. SB gets their gutshot straight; even UTG+1 ends up with two pair that would beat me. Grrrrrr.
All this sets me into a very negative frame of mind!

Though I had an overall decent session I still find these Freerolls very frustrating. Didn't have any really crazy players at any of the tables I was at which helped a bit, BUT as we get down to the end and I need chips, it seems when I fold my cards they hit and when I play them they don't. If I have high cards, the flop is low cards. There usually is 4 or more people in any round, so I find it difficult to bet post-flop without getting called by someone, so it's difficult to get anyone off their hand. All of this puts me in a negative mood, which I'm sure doesn't help. At least I'm getting closer to that 250 number.
Last hand shows you how it goes. I'm CO w/Kd 6d and 6500 chips. Blinds are 400/800 w/a 100 ante so I don't have a lot of time left. UTG & UTG+1 both limp in, rest fold to me, I call, BTN & SB fold, BB calls. Flop Kc 4s 7s. I pair my K. BB bets 1600 into the 4500 pot. He often does something like this so it's not clear to me that he has something or he's just betting to take the pot. He also has 47,631 in chips so it's not a big deal if he loses. He's well within the 250 entry range. So I reluctantly decide to go all-in with my last 5700 chips in hopes he'll fold. He doesn't and shows Ks 9c. Paired K w/a better kicker than mine. Turn 8h. River 10d. The way many hands seem to be going for me. I'm outta there.
Is there a good workable strategy with all these multi-way pots? Or does one just gamble, toss all of ones chops in and hope for the best, and when it works you build enough chips so these short stack problems don't occur?
We'll see. All this just to get into a large tourney where the most you can win is $100 for 1st!

Frustrating playing these. I tried playing much looser and had a VP of 52 and to some degree I'd have some mild success, but more often than not I didn't and when I'd get good cards they tended to get cracked. One high point was I had pocket 5's and it looked like I'd be done in when I hit Quad 5's. Anyway I'll keep playing these and see if I can find a strategy that works well for me.
On the good session I had over the weekend where I messed up on the last hand thinking I had flopped a straight when I didn't, the early part of that I was in another SNG that I needed to pay attention to, so played very selective cards. That seems harder to do when my attention is there full time. Part of the problem is I see cards that if I'd jumped in I'd have hit plus seeing others play junk and win. Gives me a bad mind-set leaning toward tilt!!
On the previous Freeroll where I said I though the LAG wouldn't make it to the final 250 I thought I was going to have to eat my words. He had made his way up to 1-4 and seemed to be holding there with up to 156,000 chips and on average to make the 250 you need 52,000+ so it seemed like it would be a shoo-in. Alas, it appears his need to play got the best of him and he went out 337. Still it was impressive that he could accumulate so many chips with his style of play.

I started late and had a nice hit w/Qd 10d getting a straight with a Ks on the River. After that hand a very loose, wild player entered our table w/21,296 chips and was betting what appeared to be almost anything to the River and would often go all-in with his big stack, which made it hard to play. I was hoping for an opportunity to double up my stack with him and that came w/hand 13.
Hand 13. I have pocket K's (Kd Kh) and am SB. Action folds to BTN (LAG), he limps in and I just call. BB sitting out, but since no-one raised he is checked into play. At this point if I'd been more aggressive I'd have picked up 100 chips. Flop 3c 7d 4s. No help to me and not particularly dangerous looking either. I check hoping to make a check/raise but the BTN doesn't co-operate and just checks too. Turn 8h. Again no help to me and not dangerous looking. I make a min bet of 50 into the 150 pot and the BTN raises me to 300, I call. I wonder if he might have two small pair. River 2d. At the time I didn't put together that the board now had a 2-3-4 straight possibility out there. I check and the BTN bets the pot of 750 and I call. He shows Ah 5s, having hit the straight by getting all three inside cards to fall on the board! I'm feeling a bit on tilt at this point!! I'm down to 1220 chips, still time to double up.
With this LAG player I don't know if I'd have bet more aggressively he'd have caved. If I go all-in and he calls and loses he still has a massive amount of chips, so I'm pretty sure he would have hung in there. Since I still have the session up he has had some big swings and had been staying around the 20,000 mark but had a jump up to the 35,000. His style has certainly kept him in the game so far but I doubt it'll hold up all the way down to the 250. He seems to have to keep playing with almost any two cards even when he is up.
Hand 20, I'm BB w/2d 4d and 900 chips; blinds 30/60. There are 3 limpers at 60 including the LAG. Flop 3s 5s 4c. I've paired my 4 and have an open-ended straight draw. LAG bets 300 into the 240 pot and I decide to raise him all-in w/my last 900. If I'm lucky he can double me up! He calls & shows Ks 2s. He's on a flush draw and also a straight draw. Turn 9h. My paired 4 is still good. River Js. He hits his flush and I'm gone.
I could have played better and been more patience but my head really didn't get into this session, which was the bigger problem I had than the LAG.

Decent play. Took some hits early on and by hand 18 was down to 1040 chips. Improved along the way and by the time we got to the bubble I had 2465 chips (low stack). Other players had 4462, 3994, and 2579. We were all pretty close.
By hand 73 we were down to 3 players. Again I was short stack w/2994, next up had 3872, and the big stack, who had just knocked out the 4th player had 6534. Hand 74 I had pocket 6's (6d 6c) and hit a set with the 6s 3s 2s flop. Didn't like that it was all spades! SB bet 600 into the 800 pot and, to see where I might stand, I raised them to 1800. They then went all-in and since I had only 794 chips left, I called. Turns out they didn't have a spade, but only 8h 7c. Looks like it was a bluff on their part. Turn 9h, River 9d and I was now chip leader w/5988 chips.
Hand 80. I was BB w/Kc 7c. BTN folded and SB open raised to 480, I called. Flop 2c 2s 9c. Board paired and I had a 2nd nut high flush draw. SB checked and I bet 480 into the 960 pot. SB raised me to 960 and I called. Turn Ks. I paired my K. SB went all-in w/3360 chips and I decided to call. He could have me beat and if he did I still had 1568 chips to work with, so all would not be loss. SB shows 9h 7h. He paired his 9 and has middle and bottom 2 pair to my top and bottom two pair. River 4c, giving me a flush and 11,168 chips to 2332 for the other remaining player.
Hand 81. I'm SB & have pocket 9's (9h 9d) and decide to open raise all-in. BB calls and shows Ah 7s, one over card. The board plays out: 6s 7d Kh 4h 8s and I win.

2 HU $2 + .15 End 1st 20 Hands
Played ok. Other player was playing 4 sessions in all. Hand 15 turned things my way. I'm not sure why he decided to invest so many chips with just a paired J.
Hand 15. I'm BB w/Ad 2h and 1340 chips. BB open raises 2 BB (40) and I call. Flop Jh 2c 9h. I pair my deuce for bottom pair. I check and BB bets the pot of 80 and I decide to call. Turn 2s. Now that makes it interesting for me, I have trip 2's. Once again I check and BB bets the pot of 240 and I raise him to 480 and he decides to go all-in w/his last 1280 chips. I wonder if he could have a set that would beat my trip 2's, or maybe he has a deuce as well. I opt to call. BB shows Jc 6s, having paired his J on the flop. Only a J on the River could beat me now. River Kh. I win and BB is down to 240 chips.
