I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this write-up. I was going to play a 9 SNG and saw this freeroll tournament registering so decided to join. Top 250 get entry to a Sunday $1000 freeroll where $100 for first and they pay the top 90. As of this morning they had 16,485 entrants; max 30,000. If I had won entry that might be a problem as Sunday is the SUPER BOWL!! Blinds were 10 min long.
What I wanted to do was experiment a little bit. In the very early rounds I'd try going all-in with AA, KK, QQ, or JJ. I got a chance on the 1st hand w/JJ vs A9s and A8s and tripled up. I got knocked back a bit in hand 11 w/Ac Qh vs 59s, a 9 & A was in the flop but a 5 hit the river. Hand 16 brought those chips back, this time, also, w/Ac Qd. I went against pocket 10's. The flop had an Ace and that help up. I was back up to 6435 in chips. Hand 28 I had Jh 8h as BB. UTG bet 2 BB (100), HJ called and I called. Flop Jd Kc 8d, I had middle and bottom pair. I limped, UTG raised to 475, HJ reraised to 900 and I decided to push all-in. UTG folded and HJ called and showed Kh 10d. Turn & River held up for me and I now had 10,965 chips.
At this point I decide to experiment with a variety of cards limping in to see if I can hit any good stuff on the flop cheap and folding if not. I bounce around a bit, then comes hand 59. As BB I have Qc 6s, 3 players limp and I check. Flop is 6h 6d Js. I hit trip 6's. I & others call min bet and Turn is 3s. I decide to take some action. SB min bets 80 and I raise to 320, BT reraises to 560, SB folds and I reraise to 1160. BT reraises all-in w/ 4412 and I call. They show As 6c. Trip 6's too but with a bigger kicker.
Signs were I should back off. Someone else with trip 6's and a bigger kicker was possible, though I felt pretty good about my Q kicker. The possibility was a FH and maybe even a straight. End result I'm down to 5583 chips.
Hand 63 was another blow to my chip stack. I had 8d 10h in HJ position. 3 players limped to me & I did too, BB checked. Flop 9s Js Jh. I have an open ended straight draw. FH possibilities are out there. UTG limp bets 80, UTG+1 calls as do I. Turn 2h. UTG bets 680, UTG +1 calls, and I call. Not sure why I called there. Yes I might get a straight on the River but that's a pretty big chuck of chips they put out there. The problem, in part was , I didn't consider the deuce seriously!
River is a 7s. I hit my straight BUT there is now a flush possibility out there as well. :-/ UTG + 1 goes all-in w/2619 chips, UTG +1 folds and I call. :-/ UTG shows pocket 2's. He hit the FH on the turn and I'm down to 2044 chips. Both the betting on the Turn & the River were telling me to fold, but I chose not to in spite of that, hoping my lesser cards would somehow win. At least this is a freeroll, BUT i still need to play GOOD poker!!
Hand 77 was a nice hand for me. I had Ad Jd as BB w/1754 chips. HJ limps in w/120, BT calls and SB raises to 600. Well I don't have a lot of chips right now, and though AJ isn't the best I decide to go all-in. It was either that or fold. HJ calls, BT folds, and SB calls. Flop Qh As 9h. I pair my Ace. SB bets 1080 and HJ folds. Has me wondering and doubting my paired Ace is going to win this. SB shows pocket K's. Turn 2c, River Jh. I win and now have 5382 chips. Phew. That was nice as I thought he might have AK or AQ that would beat me.
Hand 81 was my downfall. I fell into it just like a hot knife slicing through butter.. I had Qd Jd in HJ position, blinds 60/120. UTG bets 120, I call, .SB folds and BB checks. Flop Jc Qh 5d, giving me top two pair. Kind of flop I was hoping for. BB checks, UTG bets 120 and I raise to 240, BB folds and UTG checks. Turn 8s. UTG bets 120, I again raise to 240 and UTG decided to reraise to 1620. Uh Oh. What is going here?. It did catch my attention and I say to myself "they couldn't have a 9 10 could they?" as that seemed to be the most likely thing that could beat me after the 8 fell on the turn, and INSTEAD of JUST CALLING i decide to go all-in. They instant call and indeed they do have a 9 10. :-/ Only hope for me is to hit a FH on the River. River 2h. Tournament is over for me!
Still giving in to those losing patterns/leaks in my play. I'm not giving the other player credit for a winning hand, and worse, I try to raise them out of it, which isn't going to work if they have the winning hand!!

18 SNG $8 + .80 Tier One End 18th 25 hands
I think the subject line tells it all. I'd been playing tight, but on hand 20 I made my old/often mistake of not giving the all-in call credit for having the winning hand based on the board and one more time I paid the price.
Hand 16. I had pocket 7's in MP1 position and limped in w/50 chips. HJ raises to 150 and I fold later.
Hand 20. I have As 9s as the SB. UTG limps in w/50, I call, & BB checks. Flop 5d 9h 5h. I pair my 9 with an Ace kicker and bet 100, BB calls and UTG folds. Turn 10c. I bet 150 into the 350 pot. Might have been better if I checked, but I wanted to get a guage if I was still in the game. BB raises all-in w/1075 chips, basically telling me my paired 9's are unlikely to take this pot. Do I listen? NO. I call. He shows 5c 3d; trip 5's. River 4c. I'm done in LAST place.
Grrrr. I really need to learn this lesson!!!!

18 SNG $8 + .80 Tier One End 6th Won $14 105 hands (2/5/10)
Well, in some ways I can't complain. I was down to 275 chips on hand 63 and made it back to the money, but not the token. Last hand was the most disappointing in it's results. I feel I played it as I should and got my money in with good cards.
Hand 105. Blinds 250/500. I'm SB w/Ah Kc and 2940 chips. Two players have slightly less then me, 2705 and 2760, and one slightly more 3040. The other two players have 7920 & 7635. It doesn't take much for the bottom 4 of us to move around. Folds to the CO who goes all-in w/7635. He's been doing that a lot with a variety of cards, none really great and has lost a bigger lead he had earlier. He's from Brazil. BT folds and I call figuring I should have a good chance of winning. He shows Kh 8d. Looking good for me. All I need to do is dodge an 8. Flop Qh 5s 8c. :-/ So much for dodging the 8. Turn 4c. River 10c. I get $14 the rest get the $26 token.
There isn't a lot else to say. Hand 19 I gave up too many chips. I was UTG w/As Qs and bet 2 BB (120), it folded to the BT who called. Flop 3c 5c Js. Well one more spade but not much else helpful to me unless the turn and the river can bring me a 2, 4. I check and BT bets 180. I decide to call to see if the turn can improve my hand, but should have just folded. Turn 9c, I check and BT goes all-in. I fold. My chips are down to 1095.
Hand 63 Blinds 100/200 I'm BB w/3d 6s and 875 chips. CO bets 600, BT & SB fold and I call. At this point I don't why I would have called with those two cards. Yes the CO might have been trying to steal the blinds and it certainly puts a lot of pressure on me, but I see folding as my only real option. Flop 10h Jh 4d. No help to me. CO bets 400 and I fold, now having only 275 chips. Not looking good here in Mudville.
Hand 64. I have Ah 9d as SB. CO bets 400, BT folds, I call and BB calls. I have a chance to triple up. Flop Jc Kd 5s. Turn 2h. River Ad. I have top pair w/ a 9 kicker. The other two players just checked the Turn & River so I don't know how I stand. BB shows Qs Jd paring J's and CO shows 10d 7s. I win the 825 main pot and BB wins the side pot of 250. I have a bit of life, but with blinds of 100/200 I'm still on very shaky grounds.
Hand 67. Blinds 120/240. I have Ah 2h in HU position. Folds to me and using Loki I go all in. No callers & I add 360 chips to have 1185.
Hand 68. I'm UTG and have Kd Qd. Per Loki I go all-in again. Everyone folds and I pick up another 360 chips upping me to 1545.
Hand 70..This one gets me back in the game. We are on the bubble w/7 players. I'm BB w/Jd 10h. The BT (fellow from Brazil) goes all-in w/9220 chips, SB folds and I call. I've seen him raise like this without top quality cards, so I decide to gamble he doesn't have them this hand either and am hoping for 2 good cards. He shows Qs 8d. My thinking/feeling was correct and he has only one overcard. Flop 8c 8h Ks. He paired his 8. Turn Jc. I pair my J and have top pair at the moment. River 2s and I win. I now have 3210 chips and 2 players have fewer chips than me.
Hand 95 the bubble burst and the rest of us are in the fight for a $26 token, 6th place taking $14. I have 2370 chips and the blinds are 200/400. I'm in 6th place, 5th place player has 2880 and 1st place player has 7685.
Hand 99. I'm down to 1970, in 6th place w/Kh 3d as SB, blinds are 250/500. Action folds to me. This is one of those situation whre Loki confuses me a bit. It doesn't show anything for Kx; highest is Qx plus. I figure Kx is higher then Qx and go all in, BB w/3480 chips calls, showing Ah Qc. At least I have two good cards and one over card. Turn 2s 4s Ks. I pair my K. Turn 4c. River 5d. I now have 3940 chips putting me in 3r4 place but 4th has 3455 and 5th has 3040, even 6th isn't in terrible shape w/1510 chips. One good double up and they are right back in the fray. Number 1 has 2885 and 2 has 7170. It's still pretty much anyone's game.
Hand 105 is just ahead and as described earlier I finish 6th that hand.
Hand 105. Blinds 250/500. I'm SB w/Ah Kc and 2940 chips. Two players have slightly less then me, 2705 and 2760, and one slightly more 3040. The other two players have 7920 & 7635. 2 HU $5 + .50 Won 17 hands
This one went much better. :-) We were going back & forth until hand 11 which was a nice turning point for me.
Hand 11. I'm the BT, have 1410 chips w/9d 4d; BB has 1590 chips. I bet 2 BB (40) and BB calls. Flop Qc 9c 9h. I hit trip 9's. BB bets 70 and I call. Turn 4s. Even nicer I now have a FH. BB bets 70 and I raise to 140, BB calls. River 10h. Unless she has a 9 I should be in good shape to win this one. BB checks and I bet 210 into the 500 pot, BB raises to 420 and I reraise to 820. They fold and I now have 2090 chips. a bit more back and forth and we get to hand 17.
Hand 17. I'm BT w/2150 chips and pocket 3's, I limp with a 20 bet, BB raises to 40 and I call. Flop 7d 7c 3c. Wow I have a FH! .BB bets 20 and I raise to 40, they call. Turn Jc. They bet all-in w/770 chips. I think they might have a club flush, but it doesn't look like they can beat me, so I call. To my surprise they show Ah 9s, nothing. River Qd and it's over and I won!! Now I'm only down .50 for the day. :-)
BB checks and I bet 210 into the 500 pot, BB raises to 420 and I reraise to 820. 2 HU $5 + .50 End 2 11 hands
Short & sweet and I was on the wrong side of the final hand. I started playing reasonably aggressive 3 BB bet when I'm the SB and raising when I've hit something after the flop. That seemed to be working OK the 1st couple of hands when he started hitting back with raises and I wasn't sure if he really had something or not. I folded but in the last hand I decided to call and find out.
Hand 3. After hands where I've been raising modestly and winning, I'm BB and have Qs 6h. He limps and I call. Flop 4h 6s 2d. I have middle pair. I bet 20 into the 40 pot and he raises to 100. I have no idea what he has and fold.
Hand 7. I'm BB w/1630 chips and 7d 5c. He limps and I raise to 40, he calls. Flop 8c 2h 7c. I have middle pair and bet 20 into the 80 pot, he raises to 40 and I call. Turn 3d. I check and he bets 160. Not sure what was different about the turn card but I fold.
Hand 8. I'm the BT w/1550 chips and have Kc 2h. I bet 50 and he raises to 150, I fold.
Hand 9. We are back to even. I have Ad 10d and am the BB. He limps 20 and I raise to 60. He reraises to 180 and I reraise to 300, he calls. Flop 3h 4s 8d. I bet 150 into the 600 pot and he goes all-in w/1200. Grrr. Did he hit a set? Anyway I fold.
Hand 11. I'm BB w/1070 and have Qh 3h. He limps w/20 and I call. Flop 3d 2h 6c, I have middle pair. I bet 20 and he raises to 100, I reraise to 180 and he goes all-in and I decide to call. He shows 2d 3c, has two pair. Turn Jd, River 8d and I'm done. :-/ I really shouldn't have called his all-in, and I guess I was a bit on tilt from his aggression and "not going to take it anymore!!" Not a good way to play.
:-/ I really shouldn't have called his all-in, and I guess I was a bit on tilt from his aggression and "not going to take it anymore!!" Rush . 9 player 05/.10 179 Hands Down $10 Blinds ate $2.95
Rats. I somehow lost part of what I'd written and I het back to see if it would reappear and lost the whole post. I'm too tired to do it again, so I'll just do a quick summary.
Overall I did a lot of folding, folding, folding. When I did hit some top quality cards when I min bet I'd get no callers, making it hard to double up. I had two poorly played hands, the last one mainly because I'm tired.
Hand 97 I had Ah 2h. Flop was 2d 7h Kh, giving me a nut flush draw. the BB raise my .35 bet into the .75 pot with an all-in raise of $3.80. I decided to go for the nut flush draw and called. Turn 9s. River Jd. I'm down to $4.85.
Hand 179 I had Ad Ks w/$4.51. Flop was Kc 7c Qc. Not good news for my AK. UTG + 1 bets .65 into .61 pot and I raised to $1.30 to test him out and he called. Turn 7s. We check. River 6h. UTG + 1 bets $3.25 that puts me all-in if I call and I do. He shows Kd Qs. I'm down to $0.00.
Decide it's time to quit. I'm tired.

Tour 400 $3 + .30 3000 chips start End 316 19 hands
Had QQ hand 5 on BT (I joined late so had 2960 chips).UTG bets 3 BB (120), MP2 & HJ call, I decide to raise to 600. UTG goes all-in w/2712 chips and HJ goes all-in w/2270 chips. Darn. I decide to call anyway, partly because UTG has been in almost all hands so far. There is a side pot of 884 chips.
UTG shows 4c 5c (why was he in there?) and HJ shows As 6s (same question). I could win, neither have the kind of cards I expected for all-in bets this early. Flop 6s 9d 3s. HJ pairs his 6 and UTG has an up and down straight draw. Turn Ac. HJ now has two pair. River 3c. HJ wins and I get the side pot.
Hand 16, after gaining a few chips I give up 300 to a possible flush and lose. I should know better than to call!!
Hand 19. I have Qd 8h in HJ position w/752 chips. UTG limps (which I don't think I noticed at the time), rest fold to me, and I go all-in and if I'm lucky I pick up a few chips. CO w/6375 chips calls and rest fold. He shows As 9d. At least I have 2 good cards. Flop Qs 6d 6c. I pair my Queen. Turn 10s, so far so good. River Ah. I'm done.
At such an early point I'd have been best to go slower with my pocket Q's, or at least fold to the all-in bet and call. Thought they didn't have great cards, I didn't know that, and I could have just as well been going up against AA & KK. This is a tournament after all and I want to be there at the end, and there will be other chances to pick up chips later. Yes, I DO KNOW THAT!! :-)

Thought they didn't have great cards, I didn't know that, and I could have just as well been going up against AA & KK. This is a tournament after all and I want to be there at the end, and there will be other chances to pick up chips later. Yes, I DO KNOW THAT!! :-)
9 SNG $5 + .50 End 5th 95 hands
Last hand was a roller coaster.
Hand 95. Five left, I'm 4th w/1350 chips, Blinds 100/200. I'm HJ position. UTG w/2155 chips bets 400 and I decide this hand is as good as any I'm likely to get and w/700 on the board I raise all-in. All fold to UTG who calls and shows Ad 8d. I have the better cards Flop .9d Ac 8h. UTG hits his 8. Turn Qd, I hit my Q. Looking good for a double-up. River Jd, giving UTG a flush. Grrr. I'm out. But I got in with the best cards and that is the way poker can go.
There was a player from Russia that did a lot of aggressive betting that most of the times caused all of us to fold, so I couldn't get an idea of what he was betting with. When he finally got into an all-in situation he had AQs. He was chip leader all the way.
Another player I had colored a fish back from PTR days and had noted one very bad play he made. Tonight he was playing very tight, also three sessions. Anyway after watching his play I put him back in with the usual players.
Not a lot of hands ot talk about. Hand 53 I had pocket 7's & limped in after HJ, SB called & BB checked. .Flop 6d 9h 2c, one over card to my 7's. SB bets 100 & I call. Turn Qs. We both check. River 3h. SB bets 350. This was the player I had marked a fish, so I decided to call and see if maybe he only had 3's. He shows pocket 8's. I lose.
Hand 73. I have pocket A's. I'm button w/1460 chips. Everyone folds to me leaving only the BB (who again was the person who I'd tagged earlier as a fish). Darn, may not be able to get a whole lot out of this hand. I decide to slow play and limp in hoping the BB catches something on the flop. Flop is 8d 5d 3c. I min bet(160) and BB calls. Turn 4h, showing a possible straight out there. I could get a wheel straight. I min bet again and BB calls. I decide to bet more and bet 400 into the 960 pot. BB folds. That's basically it up to the last hand.
Overall I'd say my play was so-so. I didn't do any terrible things (by wishing the cards to fall my way). I could have played more aggressive, when the opportunities were there, say stealing more blinds. I stole a few that worked and one that I was called on & had to fold down the line.
Looking forward to better sessions.

2 HU $5 + .50 End 2nd 76 hands
Not much to say about this. I don't think I played aggressively enough while I had the chance. Around hand 46 I had him down to 765 chips, that was his low point. Hand 52 I had Ah Js, one of my better hands, but the board only came up with 6h 4s 7d 6d 3h. He had Ac 3d and won getting him back to 1305 chips. He bet agressively a number of times and I didn't have good enough cards to risk calling him.
Hand 72. He surprised me here. I was on the BT w/Ks 4d and bet 2 BB (100). He called. Flop 3s Ad 9s. We both checked. Turn Jh. Again check, check. River 9h. He bet 300 into the 200 pot and I decided to call to see what he had, so I have a better idea of what he's making those kind of bets with. There were lots of ways he could beat, including trip 9's. What he actually had was Ac 3d. He'd flopped 2 pair and had not made any plays with them until after the River. That was what surprised me. Hand 76 was not far away.
Hand 76. I'm the BT with Ah 3s and bet 3 BB (180), he calls. Flop 6h 7d As. He checks and I bet 1/2 the pot (180) and he raises me to 360. I decide to try a gutsy play and re-raise him to all-in. Unfortunately he calls and shows Ac 9h. He has the bigger kicker, I need a 3 to win. Turn 3d. I get it!!! But then comes the River 7d, double pairing the board, eliminating my paired 3's and his 9 kicker carries the day. I lose.
Obviously I should have backed off that last hand while I still had the chance, but choose not to and it cost me the game.

Rush . 9 player 05/.10 52 Hands Up $21.22 Blinds ate $.85
Had some good early results and decided to quit while I was ahead. I wanted to pick up the $11 I lost in SNG's and the $8.80 I used to win the $26 token. I needed $19,80 to do that. I made that amount, am tired, so really was best I quit before I make a bad move or just get sucked out on.
Hand 1. I had pocket A's, w/my starting $10 and was the BB. All folded to the BT who limped and I bet .20, he called. Flop 6h 6c 9d. I don't really like seeing a pair out there as it could mean trips for the CO. I decide to test the waters and bet .45 into the .42 pot and the CO folds. I have $10.22.
Hand 24. Lots of folding, some betting, a bit of up and down, I have $10.56. UTG I have pocket K's. I bet .30 and UTG +1 with $24.53 raises to .90. Everyone else folds and I call. Flop 6s 3d 2s, not scary. I bet .80 into the $1.82 pot and UTG + 1 raises to $2.40. I debate a bit and decide to risk it and go all-in. He may fold and if he calls I'm hoping he doesn't have pocket A's; if I win I double up! He calls and I hold my breath. He shows pocket 9's. Ok two cards to go. Turn .7d, River 4h. I win and now have $19.86.
My mind now starts wondering if I'll be able to hang onto it, or maybe I should cash out the $9.86 for safe keeping, but I decide to keep it in and work at playing well! Which gets us to hand 49.
Hand 49. I have $19.93, Hand 50 is sort of my 1st cut off point where I'll decide if I want to go to 100 hands or not. I'm the BB w/Ah 7h. All fold to the HJ w/$13.08 who bets .30, I call. Flop is Kd As 7s. I was hoping to see a heart nut flush but the flop does give me top pair with low pair. I bet .30 into the .61 pot and the HJ raises to $1.10. I decide to take another gamble that my paired A7 is good and go all-in. HJ calls and shows Ks Js. They paired K's and have a nut flush draw. OK two cards to go. If I lose I'm back to $6.85.Turn 3h and River Ac. I win!!! PHEW!! I now have $31.22. I've made what I wanted and I have a decision to make. It is very tempting to stay on and go for a 100 hands. Maybe I'll double up again!! BUT I'M TIRED. I've been playing since 2:19AM and its now 6:30 AM or so, so really it is best if I stop and I do. SMART!

9 SNG $5 + ,50 End 5th 37 hands
Well this was a frustrating session. Had one fish type who would be in almost every hand VP 93 after 37 hands. Was often very lucky with crap cards. I was hoping to double up on him when I hit some good cards and hoping he wouldn't suck out on me, BUT I made the MISTAKE, not he, when I got pocket K's.
Hand 37. I have 1425 chips and am last out of the five. The other chip counts vary from 2850 (the fish who has lost a few hands) to 3535. I get pocket K's in CO position. UTG folds and I bet 300 (3 BB), the fish, as he bas been doing all this session calls which is fine with me. Maybe I can trap him. Flop is 4s Ah 9h. What I didn't want to see, an Ace!
Now that I think of it, maybe I should have gone all-in, pre-flop, but, likely the fish would have called me anyway & I'd have still lost. No, I think my smaller initial bet was the better plan, after all, if an Ace shows up I can get off of my hand with enough chips left to hopefully double up later. I at least have options, all-in gives me none and with the blinds at 50/100, I don't gain that much in chips for all that risk if I do win pre-flop.
I decide to check the flop to see what the fish does and he goes all-in. Rats. Not what I wanted to see. I SHOULD just fold here. Usually he has some part of the flop when he continues and he could well have the Ace. BUT I foolishly decide to jump into the fire and call. Well not only does he have the Ace he has a 4 as well, two pair! I need a King badly. Turn Jh, River Js. I'm done.
The problem here, of course, was ME not the fish. The fish was doing what he had been doing all session, and even when he didn't have the best cards he often won, but that doesn't matter. I MOST LIKELY DID NOT HAVE THE WINNING CARDS IN MY HAND. The only sensible choice I had was TO FOLD & if I took the time to remember his betting patterns, he may raise but he rarely went all in, particularly at the flop point, he more often would just call bets.
Ah well, back to the drawing board!

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 7th 7 hands
Short & sweet (well not for me) as they say. I decided to push QQ to a raise to all-in and came up against KK.
Hand 7. Two are already out. I'm down 300 chips to 1200. I see pocket Q's and think, oh boy, maybe I can get a few chips here. UTG +1 limps and I raise to 135. CO raises to 230 and I decide to take a chance and maybe double up and go all-in.
He's been in 4 of 1st 6 hands (for 45 hands he's still VP of 71), bets aggressively post flop. Only hand I saw he had J 10o and raised limp to 3 BB; was lucky and hit trip J's on flop and slow played them. Hoping he has similar hand this time. Unfortunately for me he had pocket K's. The board turned out 8d 3s Jh 10h Kh and I was out in 7th place.
I don't feel too bad about that play. I knew going in pocket A;s or K's would have me and even if he had Ax or Kx I could have been beat on the board. Poker stove gives pocket Q's against random hand 80/20 odds. On to the next session.

18 SNG $8 + .80 Tier One End 1-5 win $26 T 86 hands
I didn't have a lot of action in this one but managed to make it to the $26 token.
Hand 7 I got a little boost. I was BB w/5c 3h. EP2 limps & I check. Flop 3d 3s 2c. I hit trip 3's but don't get too excited. On the 1st hand Flop was 9h 3h 3s; 2 players hit trip 3's, one with a K kicker and the other with a Q kicker. On the River a Q fell and the player with the K kicker called the all-in bet and was gone!
Fortunately for me that didn't happen. I checked the flop as did EP2. Turn Ad. I min bet 40 EP2 calls. River Qs. I bet half the 180 pot and EP2 calls. I was a little worried about a straight but the bet was small enough I wouldn't be hurt too bad if he didn't raise me. He had Ah Qc, hitting the Turn & River. I win and have 1805 chips.
Hand 48. Been up & down a bit through the previous hands and I now have 1745 chips. Five players on this table now and UTG I have Kd 10h. I decide to bet 2 BB (320) and see what happens. CO calls, rest fold. Flop 3d 9s Kc. I pair my K. I check & CO checks. Turn 10d. I now have 2 pair. Only scary part of flop at moment is if CO has QJ they have a straight. I min bet 160 into the 880 pot and they call. River 4d. Now there is a possible flush for CO as well. Grrrr. I decide to be aggressive and bet 560 into the 1200 pot and they fold. Phew! I don't know if a little under half the pot was aggressive enough but I didn't want to lose all my chips, and, this time it worked as they appaerntly hit nothing, or too little to risk calling me.I now have 2305 chips.
Hand 59 we're down to the final 8, 2 more out and we are all in the money, and 3 more out and the rest of us receive the $26 token. I have 2265 chips.in SB position, w/Jd 5c; blinds 100/200, I'm 7th. It folds to me and I bet 2 BB (400) so the BB doesn't have a free card, BB calls (has 4045 chips). Flop Ac Qh 8d. I limp bet 200 and BB raises to 600.and I have to fold. Leaving me w/1665 chips and 8 th position.
I'd have been better off checking or betting much larger. I didn't bet larger because I didn't want to lose too many chips if BB continues or raises, but i'm sure that showed weakness on my part, and beside he may have had an A or Q. Need some more chips to make the money!
Hand 66. Blinds 120/240 my M is under 5. I'm the BB w/1665 chips and SB has 5 more (1670). I have As Js. UTG+1 limps w/240, all fold to the SB who goes all-in. I don't like that but at this point I feel I must call with my AJs (I'll only have 1305 chips if I'm just passive) and I call.. SB shows Ah 10d, I have the over card. The board turns out 9h 6d 9d 8c Ad and I win and have 3570 chips!! Yeah!! That puts me in 5th position, last of the tokens. Next hand SB goes out, seven of us left. We're on the bubble.
Hand 75 I'm able to steal the blinds (150/300) from the BT position and increase my chips to 4380, putting me in 4th but it's very iffy here. Top 4 have from 4200 to 4900 chips. Bottom two have 2340 & 1480. Unfortunately next hand I give them away. I have Kc 10c and bet 2 BB (600), BT raises to 1200, SB, BB & I fold. BT shows pocket A's. I'm back to 3780 chips.
Hand 83 number 7 went out and hand 86 number 6 went out winning $14. The rest of us have the $26 token. I have two $26 tokens in my kitty.
Hand 7 I got a little boost. I was BB w/5c 3h. EP2 limps & I check. Flop 3d 3s 2c. I hit trip 3's but don't get too excited. Tucson Open 8 players Came in 3rd - in the money :-)
Somewhat small group tonight. I played well overall, though as we got into the later stages of the tournament I wasn't playing as well and it's an area where I become less certain what the best tactics are for me to take, which is, in part, is why I like to participate in the Tucson Open ... it gives me experience and practice in this area when I manage to play well enough to make it to the latter stages.
I had a nice early win in Hand 9. I was BB w/pocket K's and 3,210 chips (we start with 3000), HJ w/2610 chips opens betting w/3 1/2 BB bet, CO w/2610 chips calls, SB; BB folds, and I raise to 400. HJ folds and CO calls. Flop 8s 4c Ks. I hit a set!! :-) I check and CO bets 321, I raise to 642 and CO goes all-in. The only thing I see scary on the board is a possible spade flush draw so I call. CO shows Kc Qh, a weaker hand than I expected. Turn 10d, River 4d and I now have 5940 chips and have knocked out one of the players. We are now seven.
Things stayed pretty steady with a bit of up and down until hand 59. I'm SB w/4700 chips and have Ad Js. The BT w/4050 chips opens with a 300 bet, I call and BB folds. Flop As Jc 8h. I hit top two pair! BT bets half the pot, 700, and I raise to 1400 and the BT decides to go all-in. I don't see anything obvious for that bet, though he might have hit a set, but I'm assuming if he did it's not A's or J's. I decide to call. BT shows Ac 8c, top and bottom pair. Turn 7h, River 9s. I win and now have 8900 chips and knocked out another player. We are down to six. We are at our 1st break and I have a nice chip lead.
Again it's a bit of back and forth but by hand 95 I'm back to 7740 chips. Hand 96 I'm the button w/As 7s. I open with a 3 BB (480) bet, SB folds, and BB w/5265 chips calls. Flop Ks 5h 8s. I have a nut flush draw. BB bets 640 into the 1040 pot, I call. Turn Qs. I have it and nothing dangerous shows on the board. BB bets 1120 into the 2320 pot and I call again. River is a 5s.
I didn't notice at the time, but the board has now paired making for a potential FH being out there. BB bets 1280 into the 4500 pot and I raise to 2560. BB decides to fold. I now have 11,340 chips, near my high point of the evening.
I'm not sure what I would have done if I'd noticed the board pairing. It's one of those areas I have trouble with when I see my hand having the nuts and expecting to win. I seem to put blinders on to someone else having a hand that could beat me. But if I had, I may have only called his 1280 last bet. I certainly was priced in and I'd still have had 4220 chips left and in line with the other players.
It also makes me wonder, that rather then just calling the BB on the flop and the turn, maybe I should have bet harder to prevent the opportunity for the River to suck me out.
Hand 143. I'm the SB w/8580 chips and have 9s Jc, blinds 150/300, 4 of us are left. On the bubble! I limp to the BB and BB checks. Flop 2h 3s Js. I have top pair. I bet 300 into the 700 pot and BB calls. Turn 4s. Not helpful to me and indicates a possible flush out there. I bet 300 into the 1300 pot and BB raises me to 600, I call. Not a lot of reason to call, but it was a small amount so I did it. River 9h. That gives me top two pair, but the possibility of a flush is still out there. I bet 1050 into the 2500 pot and BB calls. They show something I'd not considered ... a straight!! They have 5h 6c and have had the straight since the turn. I'm down to 6305 chips.
Hand 173. I'm down to 4055 chips, blinds are 200/400 and three of us are left. I made the money. I'm BB and have Ah 9h. BT w/11,5321 chips limps, SB w/8434 chips calls, & I check. Flop 6h 3s 6s. Not a particularly good flop for me. We all check. Turn 5h. Well I have a flush draw, but the board is pared and a straight is also possible. SB checks and I decide to bet 800 into the 1350 pot to see if I can get folks to fold. BT calls and SB folds. River 6d. All I have now is Ace high. I check and BT bets 1200 into the 2950 pot. I fold. I only have 2805 chips left. Not good, Loki time.
Hand 175. I'm the button w/2305 chips and Kc Qs. Per Loki this is an all-in call for me, so I go all-in. SB folds and BB calls, showing Ah 6. They have one over card. The board shows 5d 7d 3h 3d 7s. Neither of us hit but they have the Ace to my King and win. I'm out and in 3rd place.
All in all it was a good night. Would have liked to have played the latter stages better and hopefully that will come with time.

2 HU $5 + .50 End 2nd 9 hands
Not letting that 1st HU session get me down I jump right back in. This session last a little longer - 9 hands. He had a tendency when I was SB and opened w/3 BB (60) to raise to 200. Since I had weak cards I folded each time, so I don't know if he had good cards or was just being very aggressive to my opening raise.
Hand 9. He had 1540 chips to my 1460, we've been pretty even along the way so far. I'm BB w/Ah Jc. He opens with 3 BB bet (60) and I raise to 120 and he goes all-in. Darn. AJ is not a terribly strong hand and there are a lot of hands an all-in might make this early that could beat it, BUT I decide to call anyway. He shows pocket 6's. A much weaker hand than I expected. I'm the one who had the two over cards this time. Can I win??? Well we already know that. :-) Board shows 7c 7d 9h 10d 7h. Nope my over cards don't do the trick. :-/
Overall in both of these HU sessions I'd have been better off folding to an all-in bet so early unless I had the nuts up front like AA or KK and wait until later for better hands to play. Nothing really to lose folding so early!!
Back to the Tucson Open.

2 HU $5 + .50 End 2nd One hand
Not much to say on this one. I hve Jd Jc SB bets 60, I raise to 120 and he goes all-in. Well JJ can be beat by AA, KK, or QQ that he might have but I decide to call anyway. He has Ac Qd, two over cards. I could win. The board shows 7h 8s 6s 3c Qs. Looked pretty good until the River. Gone in one hand!
Rush .05/.10 113 Hands Up $2.67 Blinds ate $2.05
In spite of my better judgement and knowing I should be in bed, I decided to head back to FT and give Rush another try. Wanted to try something MW had told me. Since I did so poorly yesterday I decided to only go in with the min of $4. That may have messed up a bit what I was trying to test.
What I wanted to test was raising the CO or HJ when they raised pre-flop and I was on the BT or SB. MW has had experience where that got them to fold. My experience this morning was they always called. After losing a few times trying this I decided to stop and retry it at a later date.
I got off to a bad start on hand 2.
Hand 2. I'm SB w/$3.75, have Ac Kh. It folds to the CO w$6.78 who bets .30, the BT w/$10.37 calls and I decide to raise to .60, BB folds, CO raises all-in w/$7 and BT folds. I have a decision to make, and think maybe I can double up here, but what might the CO have. I really don't know. A limp and then an all-in to a relatively small raise seems extreme. Could he have AA or KK? I decide to call and CO shows JJ. At least I have two overcards. Board comes up with 4s Jc 9s 2d 10d and I'm down $4 in two hands. :-/ And I haven't even been able to test out what I want. I put in another $4.
Hand 9. I'm BB w/$4.20 and 9c 5s. It folds to the SB who has $4.05 and bets .30. I decide to raise them to .60 to see if they'll fold, they call. Flop 4h 5c Jd, pairing my 5. SB checks and I bet .45 into the $1.12 pot, again hoping to get SB to fold and they call. Turn 2h. At least not an other overcard. SB bets .60 and I call. No special reason, just decide I'd like to see the River. River 5h. That gives me trip 5's. I did NOT NOTICE that it also set up a possible heart flush. SB checks again and I decide to risk a $1. SB check raises going all in w/$2.45 and I call leaving me with .20. He shows Ac Qh and I WIN.A $7.66 pot. I'm almost even again!!
A few hands later I make to $8.01 and want to take $4 out, so I'm only playing with my original $4. Not quite sure how to it and as I quick fold I fall back to $7.86.
Hand 23 in CO position I have Ad Kh w/$7.86. That dangerous AK again. MP2 w/$3.59 limps, HJ w/$14.91 calls, I raise to .35, BT, SB & BB fold as does MP2, HJ calls. Flop Qs 4s 4h. Doesn't help my AK. HJ & I check. Turn 4d. Hmmm, what might HJ have? They check. I decide to bet .35 into the .89 pot to see if HJ has anything they might want to bet, including the 4th 4. They fold. I now have $8.40. I take $4.40 out. Yes to some degree this is loss aversion, but I didn't want to repeat what I'd done earlier for the whole amount if I choose to make another bad play.
Hands 28 & 30 I got to practice raising the CO when they bet .30/.35. I doubled their bet. Both times they called, and in the second the BB called as well. My $3.50 at the start fell quickly to $1.95. Not good. This was a very small sample of how that technique might play out and obviously I need more $$$ on hand so I can afford those calls and still have enough $$$ left to use it later when I might win a few. Anyway, at this point I stopped trying that and worked at building up my $1.95 to at least $4 so I'd be even (actually up by .40 since I took $4.40 out).
Hand 50 I was able to double up my $1.65. I was BB w/pocket 10's. MP2 w/$3.50 limped in and everyone else folded. I decided to go for the gusto and went all-in. MP2 called showing 10h Jh, one overcard to my pair. The board came up with Ad 2s 5d Kc 6d and I now had $3.13, well on my way to getting my $4 back.
By hand 63 I was down to $2.58 in HJ position w/Kd Js. It folded to me and I bet .30, SB w/$23.30 called and the BB folded. Flop 9s 9d 9c. Darn!! Not the kind of flop I wanted to see. SB checks and I do the same. Turn Qs. SB bets .50 and though I'm not sure I want to, I call. I don't think he has the 4th 9 but he might have a pair for a FH or Ace something. Either way it would beat me. River is a 3h, SB bets $1.30 and I fold. Now back to $1.88.
I have some small wins along the way and by hand 80 I'm up to $2.98. 20 hands to go. At hand 100 I've lost a bit and am back to $2.54. I think about it and decide I'll go to 150 hands.
Hand 107. I'm BB w/$2.49 and have pocket A's. MP2 w/$6.90 bets .40 rest fold to me and I go all-in. I expect he'll fold, but instead he calls and shows Kc Ks. Now if I can avoid a King showing up. The board shows 10d 8h Qh 4s 6s and I now have $4.89.
Hand 108. I'm the BT w/$4.89 and have Ks Jd. All fold to the CO who w/$1.43 who bets .30, I raise to .60, SB & BB fold, and CO goes all-in, I call. They show Ac Qc, two overcards. Flop Kh 7s 4s. Turn Js. River 2h. I win. and now have $6.27. OK, I'm ahead by a couple of $ and I'm tired, why not quit here instead of going to 150 and I do.

SB checks and I bet .45 into the $1.12 pot, again hoping to get SB to fold and they call. Turn 2h. At least not an other overcard. SB bets .60 and I call. Turn Js. River 2h. I win. and now have $6.27. OK, I'm ahead by a couple of $ and I'm tired, why not quit here instead of going to 150 and I do.
2 9 person SNG's $5 + .50. End 1st in both YEAH!!
I closed FT before I remembered I wanted to write about these two sessions. I could look at the sessions through Poker Tracker, but it's easier when I have FT's Last Hand history and it's late, so I'll just make a few comments.
It was nice to make up for my earlier Rush losses and to have played better. I played generally tighter, took less risk, and tried not get too large of bets in marginal situations. Certainly I was lucky on some hands and generally my good hands were not sucked out on!
I'll leave it at that. If later I want to add some comments while loking through PT I'll do that.

Rush 6 .05/.10 102 Hands down $20 Blinds ate $2.55 (2/2/10)
Basically poor play on my part overall. Overplaying my hands. Getting into hands I shouldn't.
Hand 1. Nice start. I had Ah Kh, CO position. Folded to me and I bet .30 SB w/$16.30 & BB w/$3.70 call. Flop Ad Kd 5d. Nice flop for me EXCEPT for the suit. Diamond flush possible. I bet $.40 into the $.84 pot, SB folds and BB raises to $.80, I call. Turn 2c. BB checks, I check. River Js. SB bets $1 and I decide to risk it and call. They show Kc 10d. I win the $4.20 pot and am up $2. Four hands later I give much of it away.
Hand 5. I have pocket 7's. HJ position folded to me and I bet .30, BT bets .80 and I call. Flop 5d 9d 9h. An overpair. I bet .45 and BT raises all-in w/$6.93 and I fold. I now only have $.75 of that $2 left.
Hand 34. Chased a flush draw. I'm BB w/$7.17 and Ks Js. BT bets .25, SB calls, & I call. Flop Qd 4s 5s. I bet .35 into the .70 pot, BT folds, SB calls. Turn 3c. SB checks and I bet .50 into the $1.36 pot. SB calls. River 8c. I did not hit my flush. SB checks & I check. SB has Qh 7h. That cost me another $1.
Hand 36. I have Ac Jc UTG + 1, $5.97. I bet .30, SB who has only $1.05 goes all-in. I call. I really didn't notice he was all-in until after he went all-in; I had called. He shows Ah 8h. We both have A's but I have the better kicker. The board came up Kd 6c Ad 2s 3d. I win the $2.06 pot.
Hand 46. I'm BT, have $4.33 w/Ad Jd. UTG w/$19.59 bets .35 and I call, SB & BB fold. Flop 9d 2d Kc. I have a flush draw again, this time the nut flush. UTG bets $.85 into the $.80 pot I call. Turn 4s. UTG bets $2.55 into the $2.38 pot. Darn, that's a big bet. I wonder what he might have. Might he already have the flush, hit a set, just paired the K's? I don't see anything on the board that has him betting that much so decide to gamble on the nut flush draw. River 4d. I hit it!!! He makes a very small bet this time .60 into the pot of $7.14. Hmm, that suggest he may not have much and he is concerned about the possible flush. How much can I bet and still get a call from him? Well, I only have .58 cents left. Ah, why he bet only .60. hehehe I missed that during the actual play!! I go all-in and he shows Ks Qs. I win the $8.23 pot and am getting back to my starting point of $10. Things are looking up and by hand 50 I had $8.99. Alas that was not to last.
Hand 82. I was back down to $5.94, UTG I had Kh 10h and decide to limp in. CO w/$11.93 raises to .30, BT folds, SB calls, BB folds and I call. Flop Qd Jh As. .For reasons unclear to me, at that point I didn't realize I had a straight. I was thinking I had a straight draw. SB checks, I bet .60 into the .94 pot, UTG & SB call. With my current thinking pattern I don't think I'd have gone all-in even if I realized I had the straight, though in Rush that might have been a good idea. I had the nut high straight.
Turn Qh. I'm thinking now I have a flush draw and could have a straight flush witn an Ace or 9 of hearts. SB & I check. UTG bets $1.70 and SB folds. At this point I realize I have the nut high straight and a flush draw, so I go all-in. I didn't think much about what UTG might have that would beat me and thought likely they might have a straight too, maybe two pair, or a set. They call and I see the bad news. They have Qs Jd. Not great cards but the have a FH!! Grrr. I did not think about that. If I had I doubt I'd have done more then call UTG's bet, and might have even folded, though going for a straight flush draw would have been very tempting. So BINGO my $10 is wiped out and I still have another 18 hands to play to get to 100. :-/
I do see I have a big leak in my thinking that when my hand looks good I overlook pairing on the board that could mean the other player(s) have a FH. I need to see that I bring that to my attention so it's, at least, a consideration, in what my next play will be!!
Well, only 18 more hands, how much damage can I do putting another $10 up for grabs???? Well, it may well be I shouldn't be playing right now, at least not Rush. Maybe in a regular SNG I'll sit back and take the time I need to think before I play. So $10 more went in. What do you think the results were???? Not good. :-/
Hand 83, the next hand w/Ah 2s I let go of $1.78 vs Qh 10d. On the flop the board showed Qc Jd 10c. The Turn an As when the BT made a $1.40 all-in raise to .30 bet & call. BT had $1.78 at start of hand. I decide to call with my A's paired in spite of the likelihood of a straight out there, basically hoping he has done no more than pair the board and not with an Ace. He shows 10d Qh, two pairs. River is 7h. I'm down to $8.22.
Hand 89. I'm in HJ position w/$7.22 and have Kd Jh. UTG folds & I bet 2 BB (.20), CO folds, BT w/$13.17 raises to .30, SB & BB fold, I call. Flop Jd 9h Ac. Hits my Jack but has the Ace overcard as well. I check & CO checks. Turn 7d. I check again & CO bets .75 into the .70 pot. I call. Turn 4s. I check & CO bets $1. Darn I say and wonder if he has an Ace. He didn't bet it on the flop. Only bet on the turn & river, so I decide to call hoping my Jack pair will be good. Of course it wasn't, he shows Ah Qc.
The turn & river came very nicely for his paired Ace and his betting could/did have me wondering if he'd only hit the 7 or the 4. Good play on his part. I'm down to $5.17 with 11 hands to go.
Hand 99. UTG position with $4.63 I have Ah 8h I bet 2 BB (.20). HJ calls, CO & BT fold, SB calls & BB folds. Flop 6d 3h 7h. Another nut flush draw for me. SB checks, I limp bet .10, HJ w/$3.25 raises to .20, SB folds, I call. Turn Ks. HJ bets $1.10. Not good, but I'm still hoping I can hit my nut flush and call. River 2d. I did not hit and have only Ace high. CO goes all-in and I fold. I'm now down to $3.13 with one hand left.
Hand 100. I'm SB with pocket 5's. UTG folds, HJ w/$4.15 bets .30, CO & BT fold, I want to see the flop and raise to .50. I believe that was an accident on my part with the slider as my intent was to just call. BB folds & HJ calls. Flop 6d 10s 10c. I check and CO bets .70 into the $1.03 pot. I call. There is no good reason for me to make that call, period. Turn Kc and we both check. River 9h and we both check again. CO shows pocket 8's. and wins. I have $1.93.
Here is where Rush and number of hands played can get a little confusing. I'm not sure when Full Tilt records the hand as played. Is it when I fold & leave, or not until the actual hand is over, even though I've moved on? It seems to me it's the later. Anyway I ended up playing two more hands because I wasn't sure I was at 100 yet.
Hand 102. I'm on the Button, have $1.93 and Ah 9s. UTG w/$6.72 bets .10, HJ & CO fold, I raise to .20, SB & BB fold, UTG calls. Flop Kc 2s 10s. Both UTG & I check. Turn Qs. Putting me on flush draw as well as a gutshot straight draw. River Jc. I hit my straight, UTG goes all in and I decided to go all-in as well with my last $1.73. I was hoping I would win and that he had no better then a straight too. UTG shows Ks 5s. Having hit his flush on the Turn, but not betting it. I'm down to 0, and down overall $20. Not a good playing day on Rush here in Mudsville. :-/
Again this may not be a good time for me to be playing. I'm making too many errors in judgement and costing me good $$$ from my bankroll!!
Hand 1.

2 HU $5 + .50 End 2nd 48 hands
Not well played on my part. Still in my 1st stages of waking up; have 1st cup of coffee here. Opponent had a habit of often betting the full pot which I felt I had to fold on most times. I only raised him on it a couple of times. Hand 22 I had 10d 8h. Flop 5c 10c 10s. He bet the pot of 120 and I called. Turn Jh. He bet 120 again and I went all-in with my last 575 and he folded. He also, unfortunately folded when I had excellent starting cards so I didn't get to play them against him and/or I'd have something like AK and the flop would be all lower rags that he would bet into. Such is how poker goes sometimes.
Hand 9. My most poorly player hand. I had pocket 9's on the BT and raised 3 BB (60), BB called. Flop 10c 3d 5c, one overcard to my 9's. He bets the pot of 120 and I call. Turn 2h. He bets pot of 360 and I call again. At this point he might have an over pair, such as a 10 showing on the board, or even a straight, River Ac, another big overcard as well as the possibility of a flush being out there. He only bets 360 this time (approx 1/3 of pot) and I decide to call. He has 10h Jc. I'm now down to 600 chips which puts me at a disadvantage going forward. No logic or poker sense in my play there. Nothing much else happens for the next hands. I go up and down getting up over a 1000 chips some of the time and as low as 465.
Hand 48. Last hand. I'm BB w/Qc 7d. BT bets 2 BB and I decide to go all-in with my last 800. No good reason for this. Just decided to try an aggressive play and see what happens. He calls. He has Kh Qd, so I'm in big trouble. I need a 7 without his King pairing or 4 clubs to win. The board ends up 2h 5h 8s 8d Ah. Over and Out, I'm finished.
Mainly I would say my head was not quite in the right place for playing right now. Will likely try another game and see how that goes. If I find I'm playing better I'll stick around and if not, find something else to do till later!

PS 2 HU $2 + .20 Lost
I closed out Poker Stars too soon so can't check back on hands. The match went on too long and I was ahead for much of it. As we got to the end, I noticed I was tired and started playing to play and overextending my hand possibilities. Say I have JJ and the flop shows an Ace. I kept betting the J's. Last hand I had a flush draw, flop had two 9's. Other player raised my bet and I called thinking they might have that 3rd 9. They tended to fold when I bet, so fi they raised that indicated they might have something. I continued to bet and go all-in. They won. They had the 9. Time for me to stop playing!

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 5th approx 78 hands
Short write up on this one. I was doing well until FT froze on me around 7:43 AM and it didn't come back for about 5 min. I was in a hand I might have been able to win but didn't see result and if any bet against me FT would have timed me out and folded my hand.
When I got back, I just played poorly. A combination of being irritated with FT and being tired. In short order I was gone. Against a short stack I decided to call an all-in w/ 55. They had 88 and won. A few hands later, 5 players, I had As Jh and bet 3 BB (600), a short stack with 1117 went all-in and I called. they had Ks 10s. The board went in their favor with 5d 10c 8h 5h Kc.
Last play was Loki all-in that was called. I had Ad 7h. They had Ah Jh. The board didn't hit either of us, but their Jack kicker carried the day. Board showed 6d 10c 4h 6h 5s.

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 8th 11 hands.
Not much to say about this one. I should have folded on the turn raise and/or river bet, but I didn't. Nothing much in the way of hands.
Hand 11. I'm SB w/Qs Jh, 8 players. MP2 & LP1 limp as do I, BB checks. Flop Kh Jc Js. I hit trip J's. I bet 1/2 pot (80), BB and MP2 fold,.LP1 calls. Turn 10h. I bet 1/2 pot again (160) LP2 raises to 600. I think a little bit but decide to call. An Ace or a 9 would give me a straight, a Q, K, or 10 would give me a FH, a J would give me quad jacks. I didn't think too much about what LP1 might have, but they could have a straight with AQ or Q9. River is 8s. My best is still trip J's. I call and LP1 goes all in. Once more I consider they might have a straight, though I thought AQ was likely, the Q9 would work, but I CALL ANYWAY. They show Qd 9s. I'm outta there. :-/
Though it might have been justified to bet on the draws (about 18 outs for the winning or chopped pot) I had on the River, it certainly wasn't when I hit none of them after the River. Then, since it's still so early in the session, I would have been best to fold on the raise to the turn as I'd still have ample chips to jump in with more certain cards up front.

Rush 9 .05/.10 100 hands +$1.66
Played just to see how PT worked Rush with their 30.3 beta. No noticeable difference. Rather sloppy early play on my part. By hand 10 I was down $2.30. Hand 50 I had $9.82 and hand 100 $11.66. Up $1.66 for that 100 hands. Best hand was 98.
Hand 98. MP1 w/Ad Ac. I bet .30, BT calls, SB folds, and BB raises to $1.30. He still has $17.89 so I decided to challenge him with all-in. Maybe my A's can double me up. BT folds as does the BB. I probably could have slow played it more but I didn't want to get sucked out on and if the BB had a couple of good cards there's a good chance he would call me. Apparently whatever they had wasn't good enough to risk another $840 or so.
It was just to be a short 100 hands and though I certainly felt like playing more, I stopped at the point I wanted.
BB ate up $1.10 & SB $.55.

9 SNG $4 + .40 End 1st win $26 T
This SNG only pays the 1st 2. !st is a $26 token and 2nd gets $10. Although I wanted to get the $26 token, I'd have been OK with the $10 as well as I pick up an extra $5.60; an extra $2.10 then 3rd place in a $5 SNG. I wasn't sure if I was going to make the final two or not and that didn't happen until hand 77. I had about 1/2 the chip leader's chips. It took another 87 hands before we got to the end.
I've been making side notes while I play so I can recall what hands I want to write about but find I only made a couple of notes for this session one early on about a steal that didn't work and one later on about a J 10 vs 10 6 that I lost.
Anyway toward the end I playing much more aggressively and lucked out on a variety of hands where I basically sucked out. I think I'll just briefly hit some of the hands in our heads up.
Hand 77 start HU. I have 4580 chips and other player has 8920.
Hand 107 I finally got into the lead. I was BB, blinds 120/240, I had Qh Jh. Button limped and I raised to 2 BB. Flop was Js 6s 10d. I hit top pair. I bet 480 into the 960 pot and SB raised to 960 and I decide to re-raise to 1440 and they call. Turn 3h. I decide to do a c-bet and bet 1080 into the 3840 pot and they call. River is a Kc. No help to me and if SB has a King I'm beat. I check and I'm surprised they check too. They turn over Jc 9s. We both have J's and I have the better kicker and win the 6000 chip pot. I now have 8820 chips to their 4680 chips. We've basically switched positions.
I don't know if my play in that hand can be justified even though I ended up winning. I'll leave it at that for now. Hands 137 & 138 I give the chips back again.
Hands 137 I'm the BB and have 10,130 chips to the SB's 3370., blinds are 200/400. I have Jc 10d. SB bets 1200 (3BB) and I decide to challenge them by raising to 2400 (twice their bet). They have 2170 chips left and decide to go all-in. Since it's only 970 more chips (I have 7730) into a 5770 pot I decide to call in spite of my cards.
SB shows ks 6h, one over card. Flop 2d 4h Kd. Their overcard hits. Turn Kc. River 6c. I lose and they win a 6740 pot. We are now just about even; I have 20 chips more than they do.
Hand 138. I'm SB with Qc 4h. I limp with 400 and they raise to 1200, for reasons I can't recall now I call. Looking at it now I don't see why I didn't just fold. I see no logic for proceeding further in this hand. Flop 10d 8s 10c. They check & so do I. Turn 6d. We both check again. River 4d pairing my 4, but that doesn't mean much. Beside overcards there's also a possible flush out there. BB goes all-in and, of course, I fold. He takes in a 2400 pot.
Hand 150. I'm the BT w/4360 chips and BB has 9140. Blinds are 250/500. I have Qs Js and bet 3 BB's (1500), BB, raises me to 4500 (3x my bet), which would put me all-in. I decide to go for broke and call. I don't know if I had a read on him that said he may not have better cards or a better card then me, but not great cards, or I just decided, let's go for broke. Well he does have two very good cards!! Ah Kc ... two over cards, but I at least have two good cards to try and pair.
Flop 8c 10s 9s. WOW. I flopped a straight and have a flush and flush straight draw!!! Didn't help BB at all. Turn Jh. uh oh. if a Q falls on the river he would have the nut high straight. Fortunately the /River is a 3h and I win the 8720 pot and our chip positions are reversed again.
Hand 151. Guess what? We reverse chip positions again! I'm BB and one more time I have QJ, Qc Jd. SB bets 2 BB's (1000) and I decide to be very aggressive and shove all-in, he calls with his 4780 chips. This time he has As 3h, one overcard. Flop 2s 3d 7s, pairing SB's 3.Turn 7h. River 9s. I lose & SB takes a pot of 9560. I have 3940.
Hand 153. I'm BB w/Ac 9h. SB Bets 4 BB (2000). I have to either fold or go all-in. Since I have an Ace I decide to go all-in. SB calls and shows pocket 4's. I have two overcards. Flop 10h 2h 8d, helping neither of us. Turn 10c. Looking like it's all over for me BUT the River is an 8s, the board has double paired negating SB's pocket 4's & I win having the better kicker's. I'm now up about 1200 in the chip count.
Hand 158. I'm the SB with 6380 chips, BB has 7120. Blinds are still 250/500. I have Qh 7h. I bet 1250 (2 1/2 BB's) and BB raises to 3000 (6 BB's). I decide to shove all-in. Not sure why, but expect it was mainly to see if I could get them off their hand. Not successful and they call. Again I don't see any good reason for my raising like I did after BB raised my 1st bet. BB shows Ac 9d.
Flop 2d 4d 10s. Not much help to either of us..Turn 7d and I pair with the board BUT gives BB a flush draw on the River. The River adds insult to injury - Qs giving me 2 pair and leaving the BB with only 740 chips.
Hand 161 he got a few chips back. I was BB and SB had 740 chips Blinds still 250/500. I had pocket 6's. SB went all-in and I called. SB showed Ks Qc. Flop 10s 3s Qh. Turn 5. River 7s. SB now has 1480 chips.
Next hand I have Ah Ks and go all-in BB folds. I win next hand as well when BT folds.
Hand 164. I'm the SB and have 10h 4s. BB goes all-in with their 730 chips and I call. They have Ah 5d. Flop Qh 8s 9d. Turn 7h. River 10d. I win, game over.

2 HU $5 + .50 Lost 47 hands
This was not my HU game. I went back to betting 3 BB's most of the time when I was the SB. I was often called. Cards tended to favor my opponent most of the time, such as hand 34 where I had Ah 9s and he had Ks 9d. At the river the board ended up with Qc 5d 5s 9c Kh.
Last hand kept that tone intact. I was down to 610 chips blinds 20/40 and I decided it was time to start going all-in with some half-way decent cards as just betting 3 BB's (120) wasn't going to leave me that many chips and likely if he had anything at all would call. I had Ks 6s and went all-in. He called and showed Qc Qh. Well I had at least one overcard, but things did look pretty bleak. Flop 4s 4c Ac. Turn Jc. River 6c, sort of adding salt to the wound. Not only did his Q's beat me, but now he had a flush; he only needed 4 of the 5 board cards to get that to happen! IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!! If the river was a Kc!!!!
Ah well, on to better stuff later.

Rush 9 .05/.10 125 hands +$2.16
I played these hands just to see how Poker Tracker's update handles Rush. I now see the stats for players I've seen before. I'm not sure how long I have to be in a hand before it considers I've seen them play. PT does not show my stats like it does in a regular session.
I came out ahead. BB's cost me $1.30 and SB's cost me $.75.
I came out ahead. BB's cost me $1.30 and SB's cost me $.75.
9 SNG $5 + .50 End 2nd 110 hands 1/30/10
I played a fairly decent game and was patient on and near the bubble.
Hand 11. Seven left, I had pocket 8's UTG and limped in with 50 chips, CO, BT, SB called and BB checked. Flop 2d 7h 10d. SB & BB check, I min raise 50 into the 250 pot. One overcard to my 8's. BT called and SB & BB folded. Turn 6s. I check and so does the BT. Turn 8c. That gives me a set but if the BT has a 9 they have a straight. I bet 100 into the 350 pot and the BT raises me to 300. Earlier I'd seen them raise a large bet having hit top pair in the flop so I decided to call and gamble they were doing something similar again, rather than having the straight. They show pocket 4's and I win the 950 pot.
Hand 36, still 7 of us. I have 1715 chips, blinds are 60/120, I'm in the CO position with pocket Q's. All fold to the HJ who limps in with a 120 bet, I decide to bet 4 BB (480), BT, SB, & BB fold, HJ calls. Flop Ah Qc 4h. I hit my set, could draw a runner, runner Q high flush. HJ check's and I bet 600 into the 1140 pot. HJ calls leaving them with 415 chips. Turn Kh. If HJ has two hearts they have a flush. If one more heart falls on the river I'd have the nut flush. HJ checks and I check. River 5d. No flush for me. HJ checks again and I do the same. I decide to not push it further in case he has something that could beat my set. They show Kc Jc and I win the pot of 2340.
Hand 42. This was a bit tricky for me. We are down to six, blinds are 100/200, I have 3035 chips. In the CO position I have Qc Jh. It folds to me and I decide I'll try a steal and bet 3 BB (600). The BT is Short Stack with 810 chips and decides to go all in. SB & BB fold. Shoot. It's another 210 chips into a 1710 pot, so I decide to call even though I don't like my chances. BT shows Ad Jd. I need a Q. Flop 4s 6s 6d. Turn Js. River 7c. Not sure if it was reasonable to try a steal there or not.
Hand 64. We are down to 4. Blinds are 150/300, I have 2305 chips on the BT w/Ac 5c. UTG bets 300, I call, SB folds, and BB checks. Flop 4s Qs Jc. Not particularly good for me. Checked to me & I check. Turn Ad. That pairs my Ace and if someone had K 10 they'd have a straight. Again both check to me and I decide to bet 600 into the 1050 pot hoping to induce them to fold if they have a drawing hand. BB calls & UTG folds. River Qd. That pairs the board. BB checks and I decide to do the same. If they had a straight or trip Q's likely they would have bet, but I'm not going to take that chance. BB has 5s 7s. Hmm on a draw for not a very high spade flush if they had hit it. I win and now have 3655 chips, in 2nd place and a little room to breathe on the bubble.
Hand 75. Hmmm, this one seems to indicate I wasn't quite as patient as I recall, at least not for this hand. Blinds are now 200/400, I'm the SB w/2655 chips, still 2nd, BB has 1320 & UTG has 1480. Chip leader has 8045. I have Qc 2s and it folds to me. I bet 2 BB to put pressure on the BB and hope they fold. Instead they go all-in. It cost me 520 more chips to call so I decide to fold, leaving me w/1855s chips and now 3rd out of the 4.
Hand 76. I go all in from the BT in hopes of stealing the blinds I do. I had 10h 3s. That puts me back in 2nd place.
Hand 84. The short stack w/360 chips is taken out and we all are in the money. Chip leader has 8245, 2nd has 2800, and I'm 3rd w/2455. Blinds are now 250/500.
Hand 85 I have pocket J's go all-in with them and win pre-flop.
Hand 89. As the BB I have pocket 6's. UTG/BT bets 1000 (2 BB). SB folds and I decide to go all-in w/ 2705 chips hoping I have a pair against, at worse, two overcards & if I lose I still made the money. They show pocket 2's; better than I expected. Flop Kh 6h 4d. Turn 10h. River Kc. I win. BT has 95 chips left. After next hand we are down to two I'm chip leader w/7410 and the other player has 6090. We go back and forth a bit until hand 104.
I'm BB w 8660 chips, SB has 4840. Blinds still 250/500. I have Ad Jd. SB bets 1000 and I decide to go all-in. They call and show Kd 5d. I have two overcards. Turn 5c Qc 8h. They pair their 5. Turn 3c. River 6d. They win. I'm down to 3820 chips.
Hand 110. Blinds 300/600, I'm down to 2320 chips. I'm the BB w/As 8c. SB bets 1200 and decide to go all-in. They call and show Qh 10h. I have an overcard. Flop 9c Ac Kc. paring my Ace and giving me a flush draw. SB has possible gutshot straight. Turn Jd. They hit their gutshot. River Kh. And it's over. I come in 2nd.
2 HU $5 + .50 Won 80 hands (1/30/10)
I don't have a lot to say about this HU session. Nicely I won in the end but I feel I let it go on too long. I've been backing away from my more aggressive play to mix up my betting patterns, but I'm feeling that I should start hard and continue that way for awhile, then mix it up later.
The other thing I need to work on is how to bet when I'm the BB. I've been mainly just letting the BB limp and checking unless I have something worth raising for. Need a better plan.
We went back and forth much of this session. A couple of times we both went all-in and had the same cards, such as AK or a straight. There were a few times he went all-in to my bets and I wasn't sure if he had it or not but decided to err on the side of caution and fold. I think after a time he saw my aggression might be with weak cards and called me more often then he would have otherwise.
I didn't have any really great hands and none all that much worth talking about. So I'll finish with the last two hands.
Hand 78. We are near even chip wise. I have 1440 and he has 1560. I'm the SB, blinds 40/80 w/Ad 8c. I bet 4 BB (240) and BB calls. Flop 3d Qc 8s. I hit middle pair. BB goes all-in w/1320. I was feeling a bit tired of this session here and decide to call. Obviously it's a pretty iffy call on my part and not knowing what his all-in's meant in the past I don't have a good clue as to what it means here. He shows 6h 8h, much weaker than I expected. I expected him to have at least a Q. Turn Js, River Kd. and I win leaving him with 120 chips.
Hand 80. I'm BB, blinds are 40/80, I have Ah 2s. He bets his last 120 chips and because I have an Ace I decide to call, though A2o is a pretty weak hand. He shows 9h 3s. I have one overcard. The board shows Kc Ac 3h 4d 8s and I win. Pleased that I did but not how I played overall.
