Overall a good session. At 50 hands I'm up $2.84. I was up $2.54 at hand 56 and took a small loss.
Hand 56. I'm HJ w/Kd Qh. MP1 bets .30, I call, CO, BT, SB & BB fold. Flop Jd 4d 7c. MP1 checks and I bet .40 into the .70 pot, they call. Turn 2d. Possible flush showing and I have 2nd nut high flush draw. MP1 checks again & I check. River Kc. I've paired my K with a pretty good kicker. MP1 bets .70 into the $1.45 pot and since it's not a big bet I decide to call in case my K's might be good. They show 9d 10d having hit the flush. I'm now only up $1.14. A few hands later I have my double up.
Hand 69. I'm MP1 w/pocket Q's (Qd Qc) and $11.50. Action folds to me and I bet .30, MP2 raises to .50, HJ, CO, BT, & SB fold, BB calls, I call. Flop Jh Qh 2d. I hit my set. BB checks and I check hoping to maybe do a check/raise, MP2 bets $1.55, BB folds, and I reraise to $5.70, MP2 calls. Turn Kd an over card. Does MP2 have a set of K's? I don't think they have an A 10. I bet all-in w/my last $5.30. They show Ad Ac. OK I still have them beat but they definitely have outs. River 8s. I WIN!!!! YEAH!! and win the $21.98 pot. Not quite a double-up as the rake took $1.02 away from me. Anyway I'm happy!!
A few hands later I have pocket Q's again, hand 73. Can I do it again? This time I'm small blind. Action folds to the BT who bets .35, I call & BB folds. Flop Kd As Kh. NOT the kind flop my Q's want to see. I debate making a bluff bet but decide to check instead. BT bets .50 and I fold. I felt the chances of his having an Ace or K were too great to waste any of the hard earned money I had won so far and if he had folded to my bet I'd only pick up 35 cents or so. If he just called, I'd have the same problem on the Turn and maybe again on the River.
The rest of the way to hand 101 was uneventful. I was pleased I was able to win back my SNG & HU losses.

2 HU $5 + .25 End 2nd 57 hands
For the 1st 12 hands he had a small lead on me. On hand 13 I went ahead and by hand 41 he was down to 570 chips. He made a small come back and by hand 49 had 750 chips when it looked like I might be able to take him.
Hand 49. I'm BB w/pocket Q's (Qc Qh), blinds 20/40. SB opens with 2 BB bet (80) and I raise to 160. SB reraises to 480 and I reraise him 800 that will put him all in. He shows Ah Jh, one over card. Flop As 10d Kh, no help to me but pairs his Ace. Turn 6d. River 7c. We are back to even.
To some degree I went on tilt after that and he was betting more aggressively. On hand 57 I was BB w/Ad 6h. SB bet 3 BB (150) and since I had an Ace I decided to reraise him all-in w/my last 840 chips, basically hoping he would fold and if he didn't that my Ace would be the high card. SB calls showing Ac 10h, putting me in sad shape. I need a 6 or diamond flush to win. Flop 10c 7s 2h. No flush possible and now I need two 6's in a row to win. Turn 5h. River 9c. Over and Out.
It wasn't necessary to let myself go out at that point and with a bit of patience I might have made it back into the game again, but I didn't have the patience so we'll never know.

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 5th 65 hands
I tried playing more aggressively and overall I think it worked OK, though in the end I didn't make the money one more time. I don't recall any hands that stuck out so I'll go with the last hand, hand 65. Earlier I had fallen as low as 840 chips by hand 56 and was able to come back.
Hand 65. 5 players, blinds 80/160. I'm SB w/2040 chips, third at moment, two lower stacks have 1426 & 1990 chips. UTG folds, CO bets 2 BB (320), BT folds, I call and BB folds (BB is playing 9 sessions). I decide I want to see what the flop shows. Flop 4d Qc Jc, pairing my Q w/ K kicker. I debate what to do and decide to go for it w/my last 1800 chips. Since the CO has 4735 chips I don't feel betting the pot (800) would cause him to fold and if he was only trying to steal the blinds, an all-in bet could hold him off on a draw. He takes a long time but finally calls, showing Ad Jd. I have the better pair at the moment. Turn Ac. Well that sure hurts, he now has top two pair. I need a Q or a 10 to win. River 8c. Down & out.

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 4th 68 hands
Overall it had been a decent session but once more I had pocket A's cracked and last hand pocket J's; both times with flushes. Grrrrr. Hand 18 I had success with pocket A's.
Hand 18. I'm UTG w/Ah Ad. I decide to limp and bet 50 chips. UTG+1 calls, EP2, MP1, MP2, CO & BT folds, SB call, BB checks. Flop Kd Qh 8d. SB & BB check, I bet 1/2 the pot (100), UTG +1 & SB fold, BB calls. Turn As. Ah I hit my set. BB checks, I bet 1/2 the 400 pot, & BB calls again. Hmm, what might they have? River Qc, giving me a FH. BB checks and I bet almost the whole pot (775) ... mainly because I was having trouble with the slider getting me what I wanted and I was running out of time.BB folds. Maybe a smaller bet would have got me a few more chips, but it is nice to pick up the 800 pot.
Hand 23. I'm BB w/3h 4c, blinds 40/80. Action folds to the HJ who limps in w/80 chips, folds to SB who calls, I check. Flop Jc 5c 3c, pairing my 3 and giving me a straight draw, though with very low cards. SB checks, I bet 1/2 the pot (120) (maybe that will scare folks off), HJ calls & SB folds. Turn 4d. I now have 2 pair and make a C bet of 200 into the 480 pot. HJ calls again. River As. No help to me but does show a possible straight if HJ has a 2. I decide to bet a little over a 1/4 of the pot and HJ calls. Not at all sure what I'm going to see as they've only called me all the way. They show Jh 9h, only pairing their J. I win a nice 1440 pot and now have 2590 chips. Nice. Things were uneventful until hand 42 when I got lucky on the River.
Hand 42: Six players left. Blinds 60/120. I'm BB w/ Ks Js. Action folds to CO who bets 3 BB (360), BT & SB fold, I call. Flop 8s Qh 5s. I have a 2nd high nut flush draw. I bet just under 1/2 the 780 pot (350) and CO raises to 700. Because I have the flush draw I decide to call, of course it's possible they have two spades as well with one of them being the Ace, they only have 470 chips left. Turn Ac. I check and CO goes all-in w/their last 470 chips. I feel I'm pot committed and pot odds almost 5 to 1, so I call. CO shows As Kh. They have the best hand at the moment. I'm hoping for the flush but don't notice what actually let me win. River 10d. Oh No I missed my flush. :-/ BUT WAIT THE CHIPS ARE COMMING MY WAY!!! The 10 gave me a straight!!!! YEAH!! I win the 3120 pot and now have 3970 chips. Alas this would be the high point of this session. The poker Gods giveth and they take-eth away, just a few hand later in hand 47.
Hand 47. Five players, blinds 60/120. I now have 4150 chips and am BB w/pocket A's (As Ad). UTG folds, CO limps in w/120, SB calls and I decide to raise to 480. UTG calls and SB folds. Flop 10c Kc 10d. Not the best flop to see as CO could have a FH w/K 10 in their hand, or trip 10's. I bet about 1/2 the pot (550 into the 1080 pot) and CO calls. Turn 6s. No apparent damage there. I check and CO checks. Probably I should have done a C bet here. River 3c. That sets up a possible flush for the CO. I decide to bet their last 470 chips and they call. Indeed they have the flush with Qc Jc and I'm cut back to 2650 chips.
Actually looking back, they only had 470 chips left on the turn, whatever I'd bet I'm sure they'd call as they were fully pot committed at that time. Seeing their cards at the end, after the flop they had Kc Qc Jc 10c straight & royal flush draws. If it was me it would have been very had to pass up.
One problem for me after a loss like that, is I'm not so much on tilt, as I decide to start playing much looser and gamble more on getting the draw and when I don't get it my chips start quickly dwindling. So by hand 68 I was down to 1165 chips.
Hand 68. Four players left, I'm small stack with other 3 having about 3x my chip stack. Blinds are 100/300 so if I don't do something soon I'll be blinded out. I have pocket J's (Jd Jc) and it looks like a chance to get some chips and be solidly back in the game. UTG who is also the CO opens with a 700 bet. Ouch. He might have something or might be stealing, anyway it's either all-in or fold for me, and w/pocket J's it's a fairly simple decision. He might have better cards but I don't know if I'll see better so I raise all-in. SB & BB fold and UTG/CO calls showing 6h 6s. Better situation for me than I expected. Flop 4h 7h Ah. Not nice as it sets him up for a flush draw. Turn 3d. OK, so far so good. I'm hoping for a black card not a 6c. River 2h. He hits his flush and instead of being back in the game I'm out of it altogether just short of the money!! :-/
Except for hand 42 where I got very lucky and my too loose play after I lost with the AA in hand 47, I'm happy with my play.
Tourney 230, 300 FTP points 6 player tables End 105
Decided to try out a 300 FTP tourney that pays the 1st 6 a $75 token.
Depressing end!!!! But I'll get to that later. Hand 2 I took my 1st hit. Except for maybe my bet on the River I feel I did OK.
Hand 2. I have pocket J's (Jd Jh) in CO position. Action folds to me and I bet 3 BB (90), BT calls & SB & BB fold. Flop 2h 10h 5s. I bet approx 1/2 pot (110), BT calls. Turn 7d. I bet approx 1/2 pot again (200 into 445 pot), again BT calls. River Ks. Darn an over card. I decide to make a min bet, mainly because I don't know if the BT has a K or not and I didn't want to put myself into too bad shape this early in the tournament. BT raises all-in w/1085 chips. If I call & lose I'm done. This has been one of my bad playing areas - when the other player makes a big bet with a likely winner showing on the board, I call & am dumped out. I think about it for awhile and decide to fold. BT shows Ac 9s. They had nothing but possible high card. I was bluffed. Grrrr BUT all to often, as I said, this is where I end up calling and losing; more often than not that other player HAS THE GOODS!!
Hand 27 I was switched to another table and with hand 31 and Ah 10h I'm able to double up and get back to our starting chips of 1500. By hand 44 I was back down to 1165 chips, but hand 45 things started out looking real good!
Hand 45: I'm HJ position with pocket A's (Ad Ac). Ah, a chance to pick up some chips I hope. UTG folds & I decide to bet only 2 BB (120) so I don't scare everyone away. CO & BT fold, SB raises to 330, and BB folds. This looks like my opportunity so I re-raise all-in and BT calls. They show As Kh. So far so good, BUT then it all QUICKLY WENT SOUTH. Flop 3s Ks 8s. They now have a flush draw as well as paired K's, but I could still win! Turn 4s. I'm done!! I can't win!!! The River adds salt to injury: 7s. Why couldn't it have been five diamonds? five clubs? So much for building up my chip stack, I'm down to zero. :-(

2 HU $2 + .15 End 1st 65 hands
Decent session. I was ahead most of the time, played aggressive/tight most of the time, and when bet heavily against folded. Other player tended to fold a lot early on and later became a bit agressive (raising 3x) to my limp opening bets when I made them that I folded to. He make have picked up a weakness from me there and was capitalizing on it. I was hoping to try a limp with an excellent hand but that opportunity didn't come. Hand 63 was the one time I decided to take a chance against one of his aggressive bets.
Hand 63. I'm BT w/2145 chips & Js 9d, BB has 855 chips. I open with a 2 BB bet, BB calls. Flop 10d 2c Jh, giving me top pair. BB checks & I bet 1/2 pot (100), BB calls. Turn 10h. Don't like that card. Might BB have trip 10's? BB checks again and I decide to do the same. River 6c. Nothing damaging there. BB bets 400. I think about it for a bit. He could be slow playing trip 10's, he might have a J w/a bettr kicker; I doubt he has a better pair. I decide to take a chance that my paired J is the best and if it isn't we'll only be back to about even if I lose, and I call. He shows Qd 8c .... nothing.... and is now down to 255 chips. Things are looking good. :-)
Two hands later I have Kh 3c on the button, blinds 50/100, I open w/2 BB bet and he calls. Flop 9h Kd 7c, pairing my K. He goes all-in w/his last 205 chips and I call. He shows Jc Jh. So far so good. Turn Ad. River 10c. I win.
18 SNG $5 + .50 End 8th 57 hands
Grrrrrr one very stupid play on my part. Hand 55 I thought I had a straight & I had nothing. Even if I did it was an iffy call with possible FH's showing on the board.
Hand 55, 8 left, I'm SB w/7s 8d, blinds 80/160, w/2145 chips. UTG, BT, & I limp, BB checks. Flop 9c 6c 2d. I have an open ended straight draw. I & BB check, UTG bets 240, BT folds, I call & BB folds. Turn 9h. UTG checks & I check. River 6d. Somehow my mind decides I have straight!! Looking at the board I see potential for a couple of FH's there, so I check. UTG bets only 320 which makes me think they likely have a FH, otherwise why bet so low? I debate about the FH for a bit but decide to call anyway. They show Kc 3c and I think I won!!! BUT WAIT the chips are going to them. THEY ONLY HAVE TWO PAIR .... I HAVE A STRAIGHT ....... NOT. OH. Big bummer!!!! That cuts me back to 1425 chips.
The problem now is that I'm all bummed out and angry at myself for that last play. I fold the next hand but decide to try a steal from CO position w/As 6c on the next hand.
Hand 57. I have As 6c, CO, 1425 chips, blinds still 80/160. Action folds to me and I decide to try and stteal the blinds opening w/3 BB bet (480). BT folds, SB & Big Stack calls, BB folds. Flop 7s 7h Kd. No help to me. SB & I check. Turn 9d. SB & I check again. River 9c. Board is now twice paired. SB bets 1030 and I decide to call w/my last 945 chips, hoping either he has an Ace and we chop, or he has a smaller pair then 7's. He shows Kc Qh. Unfortunately for me, now having the best two pair that he didn't bet on until after the river. I'm outta there.
I was mostly on tilt from two hands earlier and would have been best if I just passed for a bit unless I had really good cards. The blind steal would have been nice if it worked, but I got called and it wasn't all that hard to decide to toss in my last chips to the wind. Otherwise I'd played a decent session.
9 SNG $5 + .50 End 6th 37 hands
Nothing wonderful and nothing terrible happened in this session. I didn't get any really good cards to play and w/hand 37, down to 959 chips, small stack, blinds 100/150, w/10h 8h, 6 players Loki said to go all-in. I did. Got by everyone except the BB who had just a few more chips then me and they called. They showed Jh 10s. Flop 4h Kc Ks. Turn 2h. River Qs. Out kickered me.
We had one player that played a lot of hands, VP 58%, calling and betting with very marginal hands and often got lucky. Sometimes he had good hands: QQ, KK. Although he was a couple of players to my left he was still hard to play against. If I make a bet he might bet 3x that amount and there was no way of knowing if he had the goods or not.
One example, hand 33 I was SB w/As Ks, 6 players, blinds 40/80 UTG (the loose player) limped in w/80, UTG+1 raised to 160, BT folded, I called, BB raised to 360, UTG called & I called. Now the BB I'd be concerned about. Flop 10d, 3c, 8d. No help to me. I check, BB bets 520 into the 1240 pot, UTG goes all-in w/6028 chips, I fold and BB calls. BB shows 10h 10s hitting a set. UTG shows 3d 4d apparently going for a flush draw with very weak cards. Turn 9s. River 4s. UTG loses BUT if another diamond had fallen he'd have won. The problem of playing him even when he has junk cards, if it takes you to the River all bets are off!
Anyway I wasn't unhappy with my play. My VP was 22% at the end.

Rush . 9 player 05/.10 100 Hands Up $0.64 Blinds ate $1.75
Decided to see if I might get back some of my losses and played 100 hands of Rush. Hand 13 was very irritating and I'm lucky I ddn't let myself go on tilt after it. The other player and I went all-in and ended up chopping the pot. OK you say, OK NOT. Because of the RAKE I was down 58 cents. Grrrrrr.

(5 players) An interesting flop, I have 2nd high nut flush draw and bet .25 into the .52 pot.
BB checks, Hero bets $0.25, 2 folds, Button calls $0.25, 1 fold
Turn: ($1.05) A
(2 players) The Turn is very nice to me, I have the nut flush and it doesn't look like I can be beaten by anything. The problem - how to extract more out of the BT. He has $20.01 and I'd love to go all-in but am sure he'd fold if I do, so I bet .50 in the .98 pot. Woo Hoo BT raises to $1.20!! I just call.
Hero bets $0.50, Button raises to $1.20, Hero calls $0.70
River: ($3.45) 5
(2 players) I did not want to see another heart on the River and wonder if I can get anything out of the BT. I decide to bet about 1/3 of the pot & BT calls!!
Hero bets $1.05, Button calls $1.05
Total pot: $5.55 | Rake: $0.37
Main pot: $5.55 between Button and Hero, won by Hero
Results:
Button had K

(flush, Ace high).
Hero had 10
, J
(flush, Ace high).
Outcome: Hero won $5.18
I'm surprised BT went that far with just a pair of K's. I guess my underbetting kept him hopeful.

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 7th 26 hands
Not much to say about this one either. I had been playing decently until the last hand. At hand 36 my VP was in the 8 range. However, one more time I hoped my cards are the better when they are not.
Hand 36. I'm UTG w/Kh Qc, 1315 chips, blinds 30/60, 7 players left. I decide to open w/2 BB (120) bet, UTG+1 (big stack w/3870 chips) calls, HJ, CO & BT fold, SB calls & BB folds. Flop 9d 7d Kc. I hit my K, SB checks, I bet 165 into the 420 pot and UTG+1 raises me to 660, SB folds. I think about it for awhile. He could also have a K but with an Ace kicker or a lower kicker than mine as well, I doubt he has KK. He could also be on a diamond flush draw. It seems to me my only choice here is to fold or go all-in. Merely calling wouldn't accomplish anything. I decide to go all-in. I would like to think that could make him fold, but it is less then 400 more chips for him so very unlikely he'll do that. He does call and shows Ah Kd.
The last cards I wanted to see him with. Turn Ad. River Ks. Over and Out.
I think there are two lessons for me here. 1st there was no real good reason for me to open as UTG w/only K Q, folding is the correct choice. 2nd when I bet and get a re-raise of almost 5x my bet and I don't have the top cards in my hand, likely that other person does, & though I don't want to, I really need to fold those hands. A point I keep failing to learn!!

9 SNG $5 + .50 End 7th 36 hands
Played OK until hand 33 when I underestimated what a Belgium player might have on the flop. I had pocket 9's (9d 9h) in HJ position w/1315 chips, 7 players left. Action folded to me and I bet 2 BB (120), CO folded, BT called and SB & BB folded. Flop 5c Qd Qs. Not really what I like to see with pocket 9's so I limp in with an 80 bet and the button goes all-in w/their last 905 chips. Also not what I wanted to see. I think about it a bit and just a few hands earlier when I bet against him he also went all-in w/905 chips. My mind thinks he might just have overcards, maybe paired the 5. Looking back through all the played hands now, I've never seen any of the cards he's won with, he's made a last bet and any others folded to it, including me. So I really don't have much to go on in deciding what he has. Anyway I decide to call. BAD NEWS. He shows Qc 3h. He hit trip Q's on the flop. The only thing that could save me would be a 9 that would give me a FH and that he not catch a FH as well. Turn 3d. River 4s. I'm down to 250 chips.
Three hands later as BB w/Jh 10s I call a 240 bet from the HJ. Flop 8h 3h 6d. No real help. I check and HJ bets 80 and puts me all-in w/my last 10 chips. He shows Kd 10d. Turn 6c. River 4h. Done and over.
Outside of that one poor call I feel I played OK. I could blame my play on my cold and I'm sure that didn't help, but overall, I just decided, in spite of what the actual cards looked like, to jump into the fire and paid the price. A bit more patience would have done me a lot more good ..... at least I'd be playing with a decent, if not great, number of chips remaining.
