2 HU $2 + .15 End 1st 104 Hands

Up through hand 43 I'd been doing well and had the other player down to 620 chips, and felt I should be able to finish them off shortly. Then came hand 43 and hand 47.

Hand 43. I'm BB w/As Js. SB open raises 4 BB (160), something he does from time to time and since I've not had very good cards in the past I've always folded, so I don't really know what is behind those bets. He often folds so I suspect they are usually something that is probably worth betting for. I decide to re-raise him to 320. If it is a bluff he'll probably fold,. He calls. Flop 10d Qc 8h. I have a double gutshot straight draw. I check and SB bets 300 into the 640 pot putting them all-in, I call. They show Ah Kd. They have a better kicker than me and also a gutshot straight draw. Turn 8c. River 2c. Their Ace with the better kicker wins. They now have 1240 chips.

Hand 47. I didn't take the time to pay attention to what the other player may have and was surprised when their flush took my straight away. Grrrr. I'm BB w/8c 4c. SB limps in w/40 and I call. Flop 7d 6d Kc. I have a gut shot straight draw and runner, runner flush draw. I check and SB bets 40 into the 80 pot, I call. Turn 3d. I don't notice that there is now a possible diamond flush out there with that card; I just see it as an extension of my gutshot straight draw. I check and SB bets 40 into the 160 pot, I call.  River 5c. I get my straight. Although I didn't see the possible flush, I did see a possible better straight than mine with a 5 6 & 7 on the board. I bet 120 into the 240 pot and the SB raised me to 600. Figuring I have him beat with my straight I re-raise all-in w/my 1540 which will put him in w/his last 500 if he calls. He does and shows Kd 4d. He has a flush. I lost. How could that happen???? I had the winning hand, didn't I??? I'm now the short stack w/560 chips and things look pretty bleak to me.

Hand 54 I manage to River a flush w/Ad 7d and am up to 1200; a decent amount of chips to play with. Hand 56 I made a big gain again.

Hand 56. I'm SB w/Ad Kc. I open raise 3 BB (150) and BB re-raises me to 350. Since I only have 950 chips left I re-raise all-in and BB calls showing Ac 8c. Weaker pocket cards than I expected. I thought if he didn't have a decent pair he'd have AK, AQ, AJ, and maybe AT. Flop 2h 6s 3d. Turn Js. River Kh. My AK holds up and he is now the short stack w/800 chips. We go back and forth without any great changes in our respective chip counts until the last hand. He has been all-in a fair amount of times and I've not been able to call him so don't know what he's been holding at those times, though I suspect they aren't always the best cards

Hand 104. I'm SB w/As Jc; BB has 500 chips left after posting the BB. I limp in w/60 in hopes he'll make a big raise or go all-in, a pattern I've noticed he often does when I merely limp in. This time he just checks me. Flop Qs Ad 5c. I pair my Ace. BB goes all-in and I call. I figure at best he might have AK or AQ but if he did I'm pretty sure he'd have gone all-in pre-flop. BB shows 7d Qh, he paired his Q. I have one overcard. Turn Qc. Rats he can beat me w/trip Q's. River Ac. Wow it hits me I now have trip A's and win. Session over!!
