Payout: 1-250 Entry $1,000 Weekly Freeroll
I started late and had a nice hit w/Qd 10d getting a straight with a Ks on the River. After that hand a very loose, wild player entered our table w/21,296 chips and was betting what appeared to be almost anything to the River and would often go all-in with his big stack, which made it hard to play. I was hoping for an opportunity to double up my stack with him and that came w/hand 13.
Hand 13. I have pocket K's (Kd Kh) and am SB. Action folds to BTN (LAG), he limps in and I just call. BB sitting out, but since no-one raised he is checked into play. At this point if I'd been more aggressive I'd have picked up 100 chips. Flop 3c 7d 4s. No help to me and not particularly dangerous looking either. I check hoping to make a check/raise but the BTN doesn't co-operate and just checks too. Turn 8h. Again no help to me and not dangerous looking. I make a min bet of 50 into the 150 pot and the BTN raises me to 300, I call. I wonder if he might have two small pair. River 2d. At the time I didn't put together that the board now had a 2-3-4 straight possibility out there. I check and the BTN bets the pot of 750 and I call. He shows Ah 5s, having hit the straight by getting all three inside cards to fall on the board! I'm feeling a bit on tilt at this point!! I'm down to 1220 chips, still time to double up.
With this LAG player I don't know if I'd have bet more aggressively he'd have caved. If I go all-in and he calls and loses he still has a massive amount of chips, so I'm pretty sure he would have hung in there. Since I still have the session up he has had some big swings and had been staying around the 20,000 mark but had a jump up to the 35,000. His style has certainly kept him in the game so far but I doubt it'll hold up all the way down to the 250. He seems to have to keep playing with almost any two cards even when he is up.
Hand 20, I'm BB w/2d 4d and 900 chips; blinds 30/60. There are 3 limpers at 60 including the LAG. Flop 3s 5s 4c. I've paired my 4 and have an open-ended straight draw. LAG bets 300 into the 240 pot and I decide to raise him all-in w/my last 900. If I'm lucky he can double me up! He calls & shows Ks 2s. He's on a flush draw and also a straight draw. Turn 9h. My paired 4 is still good. River Js. He hits his flush and I'm gone.
I could have played better and been more patience but my head really didn't get into this session, which was the bigger problem I had than the LAG.
