Payout 1-14 Entry, 15th - $1 Knockouts 2
Hand 14 was very frustrating and sending me on tilt. I'm the BB w/pocket J's (Jd Jc) and 1970 chips. Action folds to the HJ who open raises 3 BB (150), CO & BTN fold, SB calls and I raise all-in w/my 2020 chips, HJ calls, rest fold. HJ shows Ad 7d, one over card. Now you might think that the overcard would be beat me, but NOOOOOO, what beats me is a straight. Flop 4d 5c 10h. Turn 6h. River 3s. He only needed 4 of the 5 cards for that to happen!! Grrrrrrr. I'm left with 180 chips. Same thing happened to another player w/pocket Q's vs A9s, the Ace didn't do it, the 4 cards for a straight did!!
I did make a comeback and got back into the game.
Hand 44. I'm BB w/pocket J's (Jd Js), 1730 chips; blinds 80/160. Will they work out better this time???? I think you already know the answer to that. :-) Action folds to HJ who limps inw/160, SB & BB call, and I raise all-in w/ my last 1730 chips. I figure if they all fold I still get 480 chips. HJ calls that puts them all-in w/1830 chips ( a possible KO), SB goes all-in w/2085 chips and BB folds. HJ shows Jh 5h & SB shows Kc Qc. Flop Qd 3h 7d. My J's are not looking too good and there is only one more in the deck. Two diamonds would help me too. Turn 2s. River 2d. I'm outta there. The only consolation this time is that it was the overcard that beat me.
I feel OK about going all in there, as the blinds are going up and I need to build my chip stack to stay alive and the way the other players are playing I just can't sit back and wait for even better cards.
I'll see about finishing this later. I need to catch a short rest as I won Entry to this tournament in a 9 person SNG.
