Wasn't able to get anyplace in this one. Players were betting big and/or all-in pre-flop so it wasn't worth checking the flop for the few times I had somewhat decent cards. Although the blinds were 5 min it seemed they got big rather quickly, at least that was the way it felt. I suddenly found myself w/1120 chips and blinds 100/200.
I only played 2 hands. The 1st I had Qs Js on the BTN and only a 2 BB bet when it got to me, I limped in as well. Flop Ad As 10c. I had a gutshot straight draw and possible Q high runner, runner flush draw. CO make an 800 bet into a 900 pot and I folded. Even if I got either of those, with the board paired a FH was possible that would beat me.
The 2nd hand, I was HJ w/Jd 9s, I decided to try a blind steal and open raised all-in w/my 920 chips, BTN re-raises to 2000, and the BB calls all-in w/their last 835 chips. BTN has As Kh; BB has Qc 4s. Flop 6h 4c 4h. BB has trip 4's. Turn Jh pairing my J and giving me some hope. River 3s. It's over and I'm gone.
Not at all sure, the way the players played I could have done much more. I was trying to get a read on how some of the players bet so I'd have some idea if I'd want to gamble with them (one player liked to play A-high card (KQJ). It looked like the only way I was going to get in was to gamble with the rest of them and hope for the best with the cards.
