Finally I made the money! Wasn't sure that was going to happen. About 20 min into the session FT cut out on me, not Comcast this time. I wasn't able to bet back in for 8 min. Fortunately the blinds were low so I wasn't too badly harmed by the outage.
I'm not going to say much about this one. I find that with my tighter play as we near the bubble the top two players have 2x or more chips than I do. Their looser play builds more chips for them and I'm debating what I should do about my play to give me a better advantage.
I had a good chance of going HU with the leader but one hand poorly played near the end hurt me.
Hand 102. There are 3 of us, big stack and BTN w/7870 chips, me as SB w/3650 chips, and short stack as BB w/1620 chips. Blinds are 250/500. The BTN folds, I limp in w/500, & the BB checks. Flop Qd 6c 3h. I min bet 500 into the 1000 pot and BB goes all-in w/their last 1620 chips. It would have been best if I folded here but I call. BB shows 10c 3d having paired their 3 for bottom pair. I expected him to have somewhat better cards. Turn 9h. River 9c. I'm down to 1690 chips.
Hand 103 I have pocket 6's on the BTN and go all-in w/them. SB & BB fold.
Hand 104 I have pocket 4's (4s 4d), am BB. BTN goes all-in w/3940 chips, SB folds, and I call w/my last 1990 chips. Again I could have folded here and hope for better next hand but with blinds 300/600 I won't be around for long. I'm hoping, at worse, he only has two overcards. Indeed he does, Kc Qc. Are those the cards I need to be worried about? Of course not, that would be too simple!! He does not hit either one of them! Flop Jd Ad 5s. He now has 1/2 of an open-ended straight draw. Turn 10d. & he gets it!!! He only needed THREE cards for that to happen!!! Well, at least I was in the money AND I could have folded those hands which would have been the better poker play.
