I had a big dip early on but made a pretty good recovery and was only down $1.77 when I stopped at 200 hands. The big dip hand, though, shows my problem of how I don't let go of hands I should when I'm bet against.
I'm SB w/Kc 10h. Action folds to CO who open raises 3 BB (.30), SB folds, and I re-raise to .60. Sometimes the CO is just trying to steal to the blinds and if I roughly double their bet they often fold, but this one calls. So much for that. Flop Qd 9s 8s. Nothing much for me but a gutshot straight draw. I check and HJ bets .50 into the $1.30 pot and I call. Now why would he bet that much if he doesn't have something???? The more important question, for me, is why do I call when I have nothing??? Turn Kd. I pair my K. Again I check, CO bets $1 into the $2.30 pot and I call. I have the K's paired but a AK, KQ, or KJ has me beat. River 8c. No help to me. I check and CO bets $3.50 into the $4.30 pot and I call. WHY??? It's very unlikely he's bluffing and it's very unlikely my paired K's with the boards paired 8's can beat him. He shows Ah As and I'm down $5.60 just like that!! Grrrr. That kind of play by me puts me on tilt!! I do know better than that, but I don't seem to be able to stop myself all too often. :-/ Fortunatley I did make a comeback and even was on the plus side for awhile, by as much as $1.90.
This hand knocked me back to the negative side again. I'm UTG+1 w/9s 8d. I open raise w/.30. I was experimenting with this as I've seen a number of players raise early and everyone folds. It does seem to work faily often. BTN calls, rest fold. Flop 10d 4d Jh. I have an open-ended straight draw. I check and the BTN bets the pot of .75, I call. I didn't think much about what he might have, just whether I was willing to put .75 into the pot for a chance to get my straight. Turn Ks. No help to me. I check and BTN bets $1.50 into the $2.25 pot and one more time call. Grrrr. That is not good play on my part. I still have nothing. River 6d. There is now a flush possibility out there as well. I check and BTN bets $4.90 into the $5.25 pot and I finally fold, but it cost me $2.55 that wasn't necessary.
