I created a post earlier today titled "All's well that ends well" and thought I posted it. I found it here in the edit mode and clicked on "Publish Post" and got an error message. Post was gone, not in draft. :-/ I'm not going to recreate it.
Briefly I played three $5 SNG sessions, two 6 max and one 9 player. The 1st two I played 3 hands altogether for about 2 minutes. The 1st on hand two I had QQ and was raised All-In with a K showing in the flop. I opted to call when I should have folded and indeed he had a King ... out with two hands!!
The 2nd I only made it to hand 1. I had KTo and decided to limp in just to see if the flop might bring me something good. The flop came down TT8, I had trip 10's with a good kicker. Player to my left went A-I and I called. He had T9s and hit a 9 on the Turn. Over and out!! :-/
I was tired when I started these sessions but decided to play ONE MORE!! This time a 9 player one. I ended up 1st and ahead for those three sessions. I quit then and smartly went to bed.
Tonight I played a 6 player $5 SNG and bounced out 3rd. I had QQ and the other player played a wide range of hands. The flop was 10 2 9 and we ended up All-In. This time he had decent cards AK. The Turn was a 3 but on the River he hit a K and I was gone on the bubble! I felt I gave it a good shot, the cards just didn't fall my way that hand.
I was debating what I might play next and noticed there were a lot of $6 Turbo sessions in the list. Turbo here means 1500 chips with 3 min blinds. I'm not keen on Turbo's but when I looked at the players in the various sessions I noticed many of them were playing multiple sessions, so I decided to try one. Four of the six players were playing multiple sessions (4, 8, and 11), the other player playing one session was to my right. That put me in a pretty good position to try to steal blinds. It went better than I expected, I had some decent cards as well, and ended up 1st!! When I find lots of the players playing 4 or more sessions I'll consider trying some more of those.
