I decided I'd try playing more aggressively from the start and overall it worked ok. How I played the last hand is a bit iffy even though I won it. In general when I was SB I'd bet 3 BB's. I was also lucky on a few hands.
Hand 2 I have pocket 8's and SB limps in w a 20 bet and I raise to 60, SB calls. Flop 2d 10h 9s, two over cards to my 8's. I bet 1/2 the pot (60) & SB calls. Turn Jc. Another overcard but also gives me a straight draw on the River. I bet 1/2 the pot again (120) and again the SB calls. That's a little worrisome with the board now showing 3 overcards and SB not backing down to my bets. River 4h. In theory no damage from that one to me. I decide to check since my previous betting didn't get SB to fold. Maybe it would have been better if I'd continued aggressively, but this is only hand 2. SB checks as well and shows Ac 8s. Looks like he was trying for the draw as well. The check did give me some information that maybe I'd not have if I'd made another 1/2 pot bet. Of course, it gave him info about me too. Not a lot happened after that until the last hand. We'd been mostly doing a bit of back and forth.
Hand 14. I'm the BB w/Ac Qc and 1560 chips. SB w/1240 chips bets 3 bb (60) and I raise to 120. SB re-raises me all-in with their 1240 chips. Darn, not what I wanted to see them do. If I call I'm down to 520 chips, but decide to risk a gamble and hoping they don't have something like AA, KK, or QQ. I've not seen enough of their play to have much of a feel about what they might be going all-in with. They show As 10h. Less than I expected and I have them covered. Flop Qd 2s 2c. Good for me. Just 2 cards to go. Turn 5h. River 8h. I win!!
As I said at the start I don't know how wise my play was after the SB decided to go all-in. I could easily have lost that hand. On the other hand, my aggressive play seemed to be working ok so I might well have been able to get back into the match with my 502 chips if necessary.
